I live in Oregon and about a month and a half ago bought a car from SoCal... you do NOT have to pay CA tax if you have the car sent up here. It just cannot be driven off the lot. I paid about $700 to have it sent up here in an enclosed trailer which is still way better than paying tax on the car.
One word of advise, to be able to register the car here in Oregon you need the Original Title. It was a mess I found out when I tried to register and getting the dealer to send it to me. So, make sure the dealer you are buying from is aware of that and can send the Title with the car. |

i work at a dealer in california, the laws have changed some dealer require you to physically take delivery of the vehicle at the dealer thats why you have to pay tax.california laws are very difficult and harsh
