Managed to upload a video finally. The ticking noise is not as noticeable as soon after the plug change. Please comment.
sounds normal, albeit it bit loud. usually the bad ticking noises see to be irregular in occurence. yours sounds perfectly regular.

I was surprised how loud the ticking noise was soon after changing the plugs. I don't know whether it was the injectors or the valvetrain. Now it does sound normal to me. I posted following my promise and to get some reassurance. Thanks.

Sounds normal to me. As I said way earlier, the cars with the problems (very first video) will have a much more obvious (nonrhythmic) sound.

Mine is supercharged. 26k miles on it and it had the ticking noise for a week. People told me it was just the lifters and I knew it sounded a lil more abnormal. It finally gave out on me while cruising on the freeway and blew up oil/ smoke all out of the exhaust.

The shop is going to pull it apart soon and see what the damage is. It doesn't seem to be good though

Getting it towed sucked. Good thing I had enough time to coast it in a safe location to get it towed. I am guessing the bearing failed and broke the rod/ piston so oil came out of the exhaust valves. I am mad. lol

Are you out of warranty?

The moment you put a SC on the car your warranty is null and void. I'm speaking from a friends experience here.

I bought the car with it on. Yeah sh*t happens. If it was my only car I would keep it stock, but I bought it as something to play with.

On the bright side. I'm thinking of a stroker/ supercharged v8 motor or m5 v10 supercharged motor swap

I guess my lesson here is not to neglect any abnormal noises and beware of that ticking time bomb of death!

Did this happen during Targa?? Please let us know what the cause of the failure was when you find out.

No it happened a week after. I didn't drive it hard since the ticking noise was there. Also gas is 91 octane in Cali and I believe it's suppose to be on 93 so I didn't push it hard. I was cruising back to sd from oc when it randomly happened. I will post an update when the shop finds out.

I told you not to drive the car on anything less than 93 when we spoke at Targa, I even told you what would happen if you did. I almost fell over when you told me you had even run 89 octane in it at one point. I recall seeing you blow by me a couple times on the Targa run and I was thinking to myself and mentioned to Larry who was with me that your motor was being put at major risk. That car was built and tuned to run 93+ octane fuel only by the previous owner who always ran race gas in it. Larry ran that car hard for many years on the track and street and never had any issues but that was because he knew he had to use high octane fuel at all times with his setup. If you get detonation due to poor fuel quality it can cause damage to rod bearings and lead to premature failure, this can happen very quickly. That car running 89/91 octane I can tell you was getting detonation at some point. Once a rod bearing is damaged it is just a matter of time before it gives. This is why we stress that customers always run the required octane rating in our supercharger kits. Larry told me that he stressed this to you before you purchased the car.

If you want to run high HP in CA on 91 octane you need to lower the CR of the motor or make sure you always have race gas in 100% of the time, no exceptions.
