Exclamation Reccomened Tire sizes with PSS

Just ordered the Avant Garde zcp style wheels (359) with 19 x9 et 18 front and 19x10 et 25 rear. They are going on a 2011 M3 stock EDC suspension with no plans of aftermarket lowering. I would like to run the PSS tires 255 285 but am not sure on sidewall and overall tire combos that would work best without rubbing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I find the ideal sizes to be 255/35 and 285/30 (GTS sizes) but there is no 285/30 PSS out yet. Next best size combo is 255/35 and 275/35 - you can get PSS in these sizes. Third option is 275/30 and 295/30 which I ran for a while but found too wide for 9 and 10 inch wide wheels.

Not to draw away from the initial question, but what might be a solid PSS width recommendation for the 9.5" 220 wheel?

You can not run 255/35/19 PSS on the front with this wheel offset. They will rub. Most aggressive offset you can use with a 255/35/19 PSS and a 9" width is 28mm. My recommendation is to stay with stock sized tires or go to 275/35 in the rear with the stock 245/35 in the front.

I am presently running 255/35 and 275/35 on my 220Ms. I had no rubs until I added 12mm spacers up front. I went with those sizes because 265/35 were not available at the time of purchase.

I now need to replace my tires and am seriously considering going back to 265/35 in the rear. According to Michelin stats, the 275 is only 7mm wider than the 265 but weighs a hefty 2.9lbs more.

If you want the 275 go with the ad08, they are a good amount wider than the pss in that size.

My car is pretty much stock, so I don't believe there is any significant performance advantage of wider rear tires, I am more concerned about the detrimental effect of the greater tire weight.

I have 265/30 Conti in front, 285/30 V12 in rear. Prefect fit, no DSC intervention with correct 1/2 inch stagger. Best the car has felt since I owned it. No spacers, no rubbing.

I'd stick with stock sizes. PSS's are great looking and performing in stock sizes. For the best response/feel, stick with stock.

Disagree. I have run that and 275/30 up front ET22 with no issues. Can't see the extra 4mm making a big difference, or if it did rub would likely be limited.

Thanks for all the responses so far guys. I do want to stick with the 255 35 up front and have received confirmation from EAS IND VMR etc that its all dependent upon tire size at this point which will make the difference on rub or no rub.

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=470091 Has no problems and this Is exactly what I want to do. The front offset is aggressive at 18 yes but havent we all seen more than one M3 owner using 12 mm spacers in the front on the stock zcp wheel bringing the offset to 18 and sometimes even 16 etc without rubbing? Guess IM still up in the air... I have also read that many owners running exact setups encounter rubbing due to a thicker or more pronounced fender liner!

So would it be safer to go with the 30s on profile vs 35s in the rear and be safer in terms of rubbing? I guess I am asking if there is a big difference in running 285-35 in the rear vs 285-30

Yes and yes. 285/35 is not a correct size, you want 285/30.

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=840996 Is running 35 profile on front and rear is why I asked. I wanted to run as close to stock specs but widen to a 285

They majority seem to either go with 255- 35 275-35 or 255- 35 285 30. Guess its between these two for me.

FYI, the guy I sold my old AG 359's to had minor rub up front with 255/35. That et18 is a little aggressive. I didn't rub with the same setup so results vary. There's a little gamble with upsizing tires on that front wheel.

So If I decided to stick with the same front tire as oem then what size tire would you recommend for the rear? Thanks for your input Denk!

I really like stock sizes. Upsizing didn't feel as good to me so I went back to stock. PSS's are great feeling/performing in stock sizes.
