model change

Has anyone picked one model M3 and now wished they picked a different one?

I decided on the E90 M3 because I thought it was a little more user friendly seeing that I have a family. I really don't shuttle the kids around in my car as much as I thought I would have. Our Yukon seems to be what we use as a family, so I've been thinking that I would really like to trade my sedan in for a coupe. I financed with 2k down and .90% for 60mths in Oct. How long do you think I will be upside down before able to trade in?

Your best bet is to find somebody in the opposite situation (got coupe but needs four doors for family) and is willing to work some type of trade...at least that is what I would look to do.

Not clear what you would accomplish. The performance of the two is pretty similar.

I wanted the convertible, but I didn't want to be selfish. Now that I've had the vehicle almost 6mths I do believe the convertible would have been fine.

I traded a 335i coupe for and e90 M3. I really wanted the coupe but I've grown to love the ease of the 4 doors. A lot of people think it is an M5. Just my two cents.

I would consider sticking with the sedan; same performance with a ton more practicality. The coupe is a 'sexy' looking car; don't get me wrong. But coming off of a 135i coupe; it was a two person car only. Having two extra doors is awesome; Car and Driver called the M3 Sedan 'possibly the best car ever made...' in last months issue. Just my opinion, but I guess that's what you were looking for...

Like others said, just keep it. I have the coupe and there are days that I wish I had the convenience of a sedan. Great car man.... plus after a while, you won't have that buyer's remorse that some people feel. It happens on different levels... cost, color, practicality, etc. etc.

Although I wouldn't mind having a second one.... Maybe this time Jet Black with sunroof a couple other different options. But don't want to give up the one I got.

I bought the Coupe.

Love it, but I wish it was a F430 instead.

i bought the coupe, but sometimes think it would have been smarter to have gone with the e93.

For the price, you got to be 101% sure thats the one for you. I would strongly advise to have it properly detailed, get a set of new rims and tires, maybe an exhaust and call it a day. DONT try to dump the car now, the current car market will kill you. My nickel...

I was about to say "don't we all..." but then I thought that the F430 would be a disaster as a daily driver

Good luck to the OP finding a trade, if not, like the others said, its still an ///M!

Who drives when the family is in the Yukon? I hate driving my wifes car (an SUV) but never had a car "nice" enough for the family (or at least as nice as the SUV). So I spent $70K for a sedan so that I'd have a car I like and I can drive everywhere (even if the family were with me). Put the kids in the M3 and be happy driving all the time and not just alone. Kids love the back of the M3!

Edmunds says an 08 6MT is worth about $54,000. An 08 6MT fairly loaded and purchased in May would have cost around $70K. With your financing that car would have about $54K left after about a year. Maybe 7-10 more months to answer your questions?

+1 ... I don't have an M3 but an E90 (with a DCT) would be my choice as well. Pure bat out of hell performance ... and family/friends friendly. You can get kids in and out without breaking your back drop them off ... where-ever ... and then with a flick of a few buttons ... get race car enjoyment. Nothing compares.

However, that being said ... there is something for top-down motoring ... a 'vert would really nice if you don't have to cart around car-seats ... and just shove the friends you don't mind losing in the back.

Here's my take .. keep the sedan or go 'vert ... jumping to a coupe is just not worth it (unless you hate the '08 tail lights that much ... in '09 .. no way ... '09 sedan M3 rear is to die for ... esp. in JB) as they both have the same nose.

.. regardless you have an //M .. you should be happy .. any which way you go.
