When I get home, I'll get a shot of the bottom.

Ok, I keep asking the same questions in other threads, but nobody will respond. Maybe someone here that has done this mod can help me. You guys already answered the first question I've been asking. Are JLevi's any better than the ones I found on Ebay? The answer is obviously, NO. My other question is, when you turn the car on do the lights flicker while they're doing a self check, or are the resistors good enough that there is no problem? Thanks guys!

I'm not sure if it is a load resistor or a Can-Bus IC on the bottom of the LED unit. Either should eliminate any problems (Errors/Flicker).

That's good to hear. Used your Ebay link and ordered. Having the foreman at the dealership do mine. I'm way too stupid to do this. He read the thread and said it was no problem. Thanks for the response.

1. Just save the red area using sandpaper (or if you have no patience use a cutting tool). make sure you don't shave too much by constantly checking the fitment. should turn roughly 45 degrees

2. after it locks in place turn on your emergency signal to help you get it aligned. it should start blinking once aligned.

3. lock it in place.

install should take about 15-20 mins. PM if you have any questions. I am more than willing to help out a fellow member.

FYI...mine does not flicker.

Ok, so did both of you (Ducman and Swhat) get yours from the link to the Ebay lights? It would seem odd that one car would flicker and one wouldn't.

That's exactly what i did to make mine turn further in the base (before sanding) but the bulb still didn't turn as far as the OEM bulb. I guess I need to shave of a bit more until it turns all the way.

Remember to NOT OVER shave/sand.

I did the exact same thing in those area..but with a knife and it's loose as hell and won't work since it need to twist on tightly.

I got mine from some guy on this forum..fucked one of the bulbs up so since I was at EAS, I just tired and just got theirs and have them installed it. That's like $130 total on both set and it's the same shit. lol

The full twisting is the 1st issue. The alignment with the prongs in the headlight is the 2nd issue. Once you over come that you're done.

Thanks guys for all of the help. Mine are ordered and I got the same ones that swhat got from ebay. I'm still going to let the Foreman do mine at the dealership so I don't screw anything up. I've already shown him this post so he knows exactly what you guys are talking about. Thanks again!

Wonder why with those you have to buy a resistor pack to keep from getting an error code?

Is the installation the same across all 3 M3 models? No difference bw sedan/coupe/vert?

This is not accessible from the front/hood?

thanks

Good news, my bulbs went in with zero sanding. Bad news, I ordered Amber LED bulbs and got white.

Also, no flicker here.

I say keep the white ones, I like the white ones especially if you've upgraded your angel eyes to 8k.

So, the qestion now becomes, which side marker light matches this turn signal the best? I ended up buying the IND Cosmetic kit, but it doesn't come with the White LED strip for the side marker. Since I will be upgrading the turn signal bulbs, what about the side strip? I know they sell the housing along with the light, but I only need the LED strip. Thoughts from folks who have already changed their turn signal and side signal....

I've got the 24 SMD amber LED fender turn signals. Hopefully the PY24W front turn signals I have are amber too. I'm going to try installing them one more time this weekend and let you know how well they match. I've also ordered the Euro LCI taillights which blink amber but are red when off - those are coming in a few weeks. All amber LED signals

Not in Illinois, this would be a ticket for sure.
