274B - Lambda Sensor Pump Current Assimilation Error VKAT Bank 2 - Help!

Few weeks ago I got the "increased emissions" error code.

I pulled it up, and got:

1) 27EB INDEX_219_INJ
// 2) 274B Lambda sensor pump current assimilation error VKAT bank 2
// 3) 2749 Lambda probe Diag.via ATIC42-device VKAT Bank2
// 4) 27B0 Secondary air system throughput bank 1

After talking with a few people, it seemed like I needed a new pre-cat o2 sensor on bank 2.

I installed a new pre-car o2 sensor I got off ebay. It was OEM Bosch.

Here is the link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/170954428583...84.m1439.l2649

I think I found the part number here on the forums, cross referenced it, and then it came up on ebay for a fraction of the price other BMW retailers were selling it for so I went for it.

I installed it on the passenger side pre cat location, and sure enough the code came up shortly after. However, now Im only getting the 274B code come up.

What is causing it? Is the sensor I got some sort of cheap copy? It came it what seemed to be OEM Bosch packaging, and was a direct fit for the car.

Funny enough now when I go to look up the compatibility on the ebay listing, it says its not compatible with my car.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

* I would like to also add, after installing the new sensor, the light came back on about 40 miles later, and then a few days later turned off by itself, and then came back on a number of days later. Strange, but its been on the past few days after taking it through a few cycles, and now this one code remains.

Thanks for the info regular guy. So after replacing the o2 sensor, I just sit tight and it will go away on its own?

Did you try resetting adaptations?

I just cleared the adaptations yesterday once cleared the trouble codes.

To be honest I dont know what clearing adaptations does.

Do I need to clear adaptations after clearing the codes, or vice versa, does it matter?

Thanks

I am not sure if that is the correct O2 sensor.

I used this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-17039-Ox...ype=automotive

Which is a Bosch 17039 where as you are using the Bosch 17037. I have had success and no issues since I have change my pre-cat O2 sensors about 5k miles ago.

Not sure what the difference is but just thought I would point that out.

Thank you. Looks like I ordered the wrong sensor. Plugged right up, which is strange. I will get a pair of these installed and see how it goes.
