AW seems to be mostly popular on forum
Everyone says AW is the most popular color, and every poll on this forum seems to suggest so. However I rarely see an AW on the road. But I see 4+ black E9x M3's every day, 99% of them are convertibles. I see AW just as often as I see the other colors that aren't black.

Here's a Cars & Coffee event in the South Bay. And yes, these were all the M3's at the event. I guess white M3's are the equivalent of red Ferrari's.

AW is so popular because, aside from Individual colors, BMW does not offer a lot of colors for the M3. That leaves AW as one of the better* colors on a short list. I hope the next one offers more standard color options.
* better in terms of how it displays the lines of the car, easy to maintain, etc.

Choosing the right color for the E9X is tough considering the limited choices. Believe me-I went from Space Gray to Jerez Black to finally AW when putting in the order.
Something about AW/FR combo that is so righteous and classy but then that's my biased opinion. |

White looks great with the CF roof. And if you put on the CF splitters, it makes a really unique look to the lower intake opening.
I've had a couple of white cars before, and really appreciate how cool they stay in the hot Texas summers compared to darker colors. However, I had to pick JzB when I ordered mine, because every time I see that color it just looks so damn mean compared to other colors. |

I changed mine as well. Had Imola back in the day, rolled the dice on Melbourne. Glad I did. Love the color.

But whether or not white looks good, has zero to do with the fact that I see numerous black m3's every day and rarely see a white one. people at the meet were probably people on this forum

Also might have a lot to do with just whatever dealerships order/stock, and people end up buying. Most people don't custom order cars, after all. Black is a very safe color to sell. |

Thanks for sharing this video, it brought back memories from my trip west last year along Route 66 to the coast then along the coastal highway 1 in my then Z4 35i (traded in for this M3). Mods CF spoiler, splitter and tinted windows are next for me before I will take the trip west again. Cheers
