18mm-15mm Spacers w/ H&R Sport = AWESOME

I went to MRF this weekend to install my spacers, springs and the OEM exhaust mod. Let me say that Malek is very professional, makes you feel completely welcome and truly knows his stuff. Great workshop and the drive to Irvine was pretty nice I highly recommend him

RIDE
The ride of the car is great! I have the H&R Sport (not Sport +) which is supposed to the less stiffer of the two. I now usually find myself in Comfort mode, and only switching to Normal when I get on the freeways. Will be tracking soon so I'll report afterwards

LOOK
The drop and stance is literally perfect My previous M3 had 12mm all around on the stock Comp Pkg springs and I thought that setup was dope. This time around I opted for the drop and a more agressive spacer setup. I know the most popular setup is the 15mm-12mm, which I almost went for...Glad i went this route. It's a fantastic "FILL" to the fenders (The last 2 pics are closeups fo the back and front fenders) Oh and I'm on Conti's in case you all wanna know.

In any case, I tried my best to take the photos so they really show what the drop/stance looks like in real-life. Hopefully I did a good enough job to help future members make an informed decision on their spacer/spring setup

Enjoy!!!

Did you do H&R spacers as well? Any vibration around 80mph?

Looks awesome.

I did 10mm all the way around and this is how my looks. 15/12mm makes me think I'd rub.

My question to the OP:
That is very agressive setup - looks good, but very agressive.
Have you pushed the car hard in corners to see if the there will be any rubbing? I would think if you get 4 people in the car (or any type of load) you will definately rub in the back.

Please let us know.

No rubbing I've had 4 peeps in it twice but of course didn't drive like a mad man. No rubbing.

I actually drive pretty aggressively and no rubbing when turning.

I used to have 12mm all around. I thought this would be TOO aggressive - It's Perfect.

No vibrations. I think that peeps that get vibration issues are the result of two things: 1- bad installation (like not sanding the hub surface, or not torquing the bolts properly) 2- Using spacers that are NOT hub-centric and properly balanced to begin with.

I personally have used Macht Schnell spacers on both my cars and have never had these kinds of issues. In L.A., on the freeways, traffic almost always exceeds 80mph or stays at a near constant (when there is no gridlock - which is pretty much 85% of the time)

You have also done the oem exhaust mod. ???
I have done this by myself, i replaced the two big perforated pipes by two

mine is different - it's a bit quieter than the one you did. The modification was done in the center and not on the 2 sides. If I had the money I would have gotten the Evolve Exhaust or an Akrapovich Evo.

OP, thanks for the link to this thread! The drop is perfect! Quick question, did you have to use an E36 bumpstop when you used the H&Rs? Also, did you have to do an alignment afterwards?
