Many pple say clear bras have issues that appear in few yrs such as discoloration and edge breaks. How about the leather ones? I called BMW and they don't have them any more. I'm looking for something to put on for the trip and take off after I arrive.

i have this problem with my car also people backing into my car when parallel parking which leaves marks on ur bumper especially if you have an AW. anyways you can alway respray it and clear bra it after.

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...intsheild+5720 Read down the thread for folks who tried it with their Porsche GT cars etc. Optherion on the forum can give you more advice. One more thing, hopefully you're not semi-tailing people on the highway either or close behind other big trucks and cars for extended periods of time. This is the number one way to get chips and debris on the car. Last edited by S65V8; 01-28-2013 at 02:05 PM.. |

This is old info. Good clear bras don't discolor. Leather ones are old school and are guaranteed to show a big line if left on long enough. If it's indeed just for a short trip, you could use painter's tape. The protection that the clear bra offers is tremendous.

This is what I do when taking a highway trip. It takes a 20 minutes or so to put on, and people may look at you funny, but it does the job pretty well...

I second the painters tape. I picked my car up in Texas and drove it to IL with tape on carbon roof and mirrors. The rest of my car has clear bra so just put it in areas that were exposed. Works like a champ and takes no time to apply. It's also very cheap!

I say once you get a few chips, you might as well live with it and just go for a respray when it gets really bad.. |

chips and scratch fix
I've had great results with Dr. ColorChip and they match BMW paint pretty well.
This stuff doesn't work very well on an edge, but almost non detectable on a flat or slightly curved surface like your hood and bumper. Results will vary by how well you comply with recommended procedure. |

I went with clear bra on my car. I've heard some crazy bangs on my windshield and could only imagine all those things hitting my bumper. No scratches yet and none of that yellow color
