Also love this...

There are reasons to get one or the other but really it's the same driving experience between the two. The sedan is fantastic for a lot of reasons and the coupe is subjectively sportier in a few ways. You won't regret either one, unless you get a coupe and your wife gives you shit for it all the time.

+1
e92 is best good looking coupe to me and my e90 is best good looking sedan to me.

I was gonna list at 14,900 if you're offering 20 i'll take it. Probably just put that down on a 335i since its superior to the m3 in every aspect anyway

E90s are cool. I have seen some E92s around here, but I've never seen an E90.

if you need 4 doors and easy access to the all 4 seats, get the e90...if not, get the E92

E92 pulls more ass. Don't let married people sucker you into sedans.

Totally biased but I think the E90 is more balanced looking. Supposedly the sedan chassis is also a bit stiffer with the addition of the b pillar.

E90 is the way to go... IMO. I had to get into the back of an E92 once and it was a pain in the a$$.
Handling; I am not an expert driver, but a friend of mine is, and he prefers the E90 over the E92 at the track. He says it feels stiffer and handles a little better.
Weight; I don't think you'll notice it, unless you get a sunroof... then you will be able to feel a difference. I have one and I can feel the extra weight.
Good luck making your decision.

I went from an E92 to an E90 and love the change. I got tired of the huge doors on the coupe and that jackass seatbelt robot arm that never worked properly. Even though I almost never have passengers I find the sedan much easier to use.

The E90 is the most sports-car like 4 door on the road today (and not even sure if the F80 M3 will retain the feeling given size and the poor performance of F30 335 driving dynamics wise in comparos vs the competition).

If I actually had the ability to drive a coupe, I wouldn't buy one based on a sedan platform (which the E92 is..it's a sedan). A true dedicated 2 door sports car platform, where size, weight, center of gravity, chassis (not built to carry higher weight) and other attributes that would operate better within the "laws of physics" vs fighting them. But the downside is that some people love 2 doors and do need some real rear seat room, but if this isn't the case for you, would look elsewhere for good sports car performance (porsche, 'vette, GTR, etc)

Also went to the 2 day M-school last year and no one could tell the difference between the coupes and sedans driving/performance wise.
Wife said the same thing. She also said I tricked her and didn't realized I was getting a 414 HP sedan. Love my E90 and with our first kid coming. Never looked back. I've done almost 10 track days and so glad I didn't get the M5.

despite the roof, sedan is only 10kg heavier with 2 extra doors
plus, sedan is more closer to 50:50 weight distribution than the coupe, so you wanna talk numbers and performance, sedan should feel better than the coupe (like the best motoring video you saw on first page)

I've done almost 10 track days and so glad I didn't get the M5.
Thanks for all the input guys. I think I have settled on the e90. I do love the look of the coupe and the inability to have the CF roof on the sedan kinda sucks, but I do need to be a bit practical here. As much as I would like it to be, it won't only be me in it or driving it. I will use the back seat for my two small boys and the wife will have to drive it from time to time. I am glad to hear that the weight difference is negligable.
Wife isn't being tricked though lol. She knows full well what a beast this car is and she's begging me to get the DCT. No way. I may just have to set some extra cash aside for replacement clutches hahaha.
I was also briefly thinking of an E60 M5 instead, but I think I will have more fun in the M3.
Now just to find one....
Thanks again.

I am part of the fail crew with coupe x sunroof. I love it.

Might have kids and have considered the E90. Everyone here makes great points. Performance wise, you are really at no big advantage or disadvantage with either car. The sedan just has way more practicality. Especially if you have kids or if this is your daily.
