ESS VT625 Supercharger 1/4 Mile Vbox Results...

Did a 1/4 mile pull, this is with a set of Nitto Drag Radials, brand new, no burnout. Had some wheel spin issues and had to lift / modulate the throttle. I think it has a better 1/8th and 1/4 mile trap in it, and with a 1.8 60' or better it's in the high 10's. Not too shabby.

Here is the Vbox Screenshots.

Here is what the approx time would be on a NHRA track, using the standard type of measurement that most NHRA approved tracks use. You can see the wheel spin and throttle modulation in the graph but the car was still able to trap around 104MPH in the 1/8th mile. Not sure how much it really affected the run, but I did lift the throttle a just a TAD before 1320'. Thanks to Robert for analyzing it for me!

Since you have so much power to the rear wheels, do you have any special launch techniques? I assume launch control is no longer viable?

Great results as always !

Quick question, I'm not doubting your results at all because you always release factual unbiased info...but with these trap speeds (130+), why in your videos from MFest you couldnt pull on a Z06? Seems like the traps are a little high for real world results (these traps are more like ZR1 speed if anything), just curious....great results again man

Excellent questions.

On the way to Mfest I was running the VT575 kit, 6psi, had a 200 lbs. passenger, Drag Radials in the trunk / back seat, Jack, tools, luggage. If the Z06 and I had kept going I'd pulled ahead of him. In these Vbox runs I'm running the VT625, with 7.5psi, with the VT625 setup, the car also hit 6.8s 60-130, a ZR1 does it in 7.8.

Did you see the recent vids against the 997TT's with upgraded Turbo's? There will be more vids coming as well, one against a modded Z06 that is 2+ cars faster than the black Z06 you saw in the Mfest vid.

Only way to launch this car and get traction is to be able to heat the drag radials up REAL GOOD, no other way. I will try that as soon as I can get to the track.

Here's my car when it had bolt ons only, it is imperative to heat up the DR's in order to get traction. You mash the peddle and apply the brakes. The narrarator is talking about a "Supercharged M3", he's not referring to my car but another M3 in the other lane, that we never see, but hear in the vid. That car trapped 129, but had no traction, and could not do a proper burnout.

Another Burnout from that day, against a fast Mustang 5.slow, lol.

So you step on the pedal and the car revs up, then dumps the clutch and it starts spinning...and once its spinning you put your other foot on the brake? No E-Brake either?

Mash the pedal, it will dump the clutch for you, then apply the brakes and let it burn for 5-10s, then let off the brakes and come out of it. Just in case I'd start your burnout after the other car has, just in case he or she takes too long to get the starting line, and the tires don't cool down. No E-Brake.

Thanks Mark! I think it has a few more MPH in it, because I had to let off and had some bad wheelspin in 2nd, etc.
