before the b@ll breaking begins... i'm a newbie to the forum and i've done every search possible on every forum looking to the answer, but no luck...

the proof is that i've read enough thread that i know that everyone says "i've search every where!"
then someone post a link to a thread in the same forum

ok hear goes...
i was looking a more meaty look on my tires... i have the stock rims/height/ET 19' on an 2008 E93 M3 (i concede to the b@ll breaking for having a Vert... i know i deserve it )

i was wondering what the widest tires i could have without rubbing issues... this is purely for visual effects... ie from the ground level i want the tires to be wide enough that people say "what was that douche thinking ???"

i'm not concerned about the over/under steering... beside destroying the occasional ricer or audi on the freeway it just my daily driver...

why?: you ask!

short answer is that although I’m a cock as most M3 folks are (RE: why do you have an M3 survey), but there is even a bigger/smaller cock that has 911S with 305 ...and it looks bad a$$ but pulled up next to me it makes my stocks look anorexic…

have anyone put 285 295 or 305 on a stock set up with a? And if so what did you use in the front?

You need new wheels. The max width on the rear 19" stock wheels is 275. You need to go with a 10.5 to 11 inche wheel to really go wide.

You CAN put on a 285 on the 9.5....but I highly recommend against that.

For example. I've put on a 265 on my OEM front 8.5 in. wheels before, during an emergency. They fit.....but handling was severely impaired.

Get new wheels. Seeing as looks are your sole goal, VMR's are cheap and go fairly big and wide.

Or, if not, just put a 275 on your rear wheels and put on some 15mm spacers.

Or, you can put on 285's, and drive slow every day of your life.

That will likely rub, on Vreds anyway.

I'm riding on 295s Vreds on my 10.5" BBS CH-Rs. They don't look as wide as you might think. Reason is these cars are pretty wide, so wide tires actually look proportional, and not as "wide" looking as you may think.

i have 255/30 275/30 on my e46 M with not issues... i can't remember, but someone had this really awesome excel sheet for 18 and 19 on e46 M3s with alot of info about sizes and reported rubbing/handling issues from other users

i think i'll stick with the stocks for now with 15/12 spacers coz i really don't want to deal with rubbing issues...

... i've got to get snow shoes anyways, i'll most likely get 255/35 275/35 for those and figure the stockers and can be my winter rims...new nice rims this spring

i'm taking it to bimmerWorks in the afternoon so see what i can about trim and the rims (paint/powdered matte black)

I meant as a safety precaution in relation to my other suggestions, not as a general statement.

i figured that, coz you said you'd be ok with a 285/295 on a 10inch rim....
i just dropped the car to get its shoes powdered matte black and tinited... back on friday.... can't wait

I'd probably go 265/30-19 in front and 295/30-19 in the rear but there's only one sure way to find out and that's to try it. Good luck! An inch here or there on the recommended rim width ranges isn't going to hurt anything (except the poor sucker who's mounting them), OEM's go outside those tolerances all the time, as do racers. If you can put your tires through more severe conditions on the street than a racecar sees at a track like Sebring, I'd be impressed.

You know, i think i will the wider tires after i eat through this stocker...,
The shop (BimmerWorks) i left it at had a great "spacer" policy. You buy them once and then if you ever switch tires or wheels, he'll "re-space" them (if that is a word) He say that it makes no difference coz he can reuse the spacers and he'd rather have a nice flush fitment that he tests for rubbing issues before returning the car.
that works great for me coz he orders from tire rack and says that what ever he orders don't work he can return it ....
