Engine braking is a very important part of track driving and is used to help set the attitude of the car during corner entry and rotate the car during the corner.Whether its a 6 speed m/t or DCT should have no bearing on this.I wish somebody that is experianced and fast drives an M-DCT and reports back about the on track experiance so we know more about the usefulness of this gearbox as a trackday tool.

Gearhead,
I am not saying that used correctly the gearbox will suffer, I was meaning used incorrectly will cause problems. Yes engine braking is required but inexperienced drivers place too much of the actual braking via the gearbox, most of them ride the brake pedal instead of really stepping on it. |
