Protest gone wrong ...
http://www.blogto.com/city/2010/06/g20_riots/
I'm pretty pissed off after seeing this...I have nothing against protesting, but why attack those stores. Store owners were seen crying outside their stores. Times like this I'd wish we allowed certain gun laws from the US.

I wish our government had given the police even greater powers of arrest. Anyone destroying innocent store owners property or government property should be jailed until their families pay for any damages.
Those people protesting don't even have the brain power to understand what they are protesting. |

Throw those arrested in to the back of the burning police cars.

Such a shame. I never thought this could happen in TO. Hope these people were not locals, but some traveling anarchist circus, so that we could just ban them from the country. If they had any brains, they would realize that they were hurting their cause with these actions, which makes me think they are too stupid to have a cause.
Too bad that the nice and peaceful attitude we enjoy in Canada only works when everybody plays along, and makes citizens an easy target for violence. I am all for people not having guns around and police offices thinking twice before they hurt anyone, but, f##k, we should be allowed to protect ourselves from this crap and/or get decisive and immediate protection from police and army. I do not think they had to take so long to see that this was not a peaceful demonstration... |

Seeing those morons break windows of those businesses especially the small stores got my blood boiling. What a bunch of losers who have nothing to do with their life. Some of them looked clearly high on drugs (the one dancing on the burnt cop car).
I can bet these are the type of pinko socialist bums who want to do drugs and live off government money for free without having to move a limb, let alone work for every dollar one makes.

The cops have already arrested some 560 people, but the "black bloc" anarchists who are breaking windows etc. likely number less than 200. What do you expect for a mere $1.1 billion in security costs? Sarkozy says he'll do it for less than $100 million next year.

The bloc people were far more than 200. It is naive to think they were only around 200. They were taking turns going around the block and switching their outfit from all-black to civilian clothes and vice versa.
I am sure, if there was less police presence, it would have been far worse than it was and people would have been complaining that the chaos was caused because there was not enough police there. If anything, the government was completely wrong in doing the summit in downtown Toronto. It should have been well outside the city core. That is about it. Sarkozy can claim whateever, but considering their book keeping practices and how Europeans hid their deficits and huge debts for years, I would take it with a grain of salt and I would not be surprised if there is no ounce of honesty in there. And they wonder and whine that police are beating the crap out of some of the protesters. Protest is just plain stupid because only some people know what the hell they're protesting about, the others are just followers who have nothing better to do and more are just there because there is an excuse to cause trouble and chaos. They should just taser those fookers.

those out of towners that come in and vandalize public and private property need to be put into concentration camps to pay back their debts with hard labour
now we have the the media blowing up the fact that innocent people hanging around queen/spadina are being held in a detention center in bad conditions....well how stupid could you be to hang out at the scene of violent protests over the last coupe days? Anyone who does that needs to be taught a lesson in common sense Last edited by kmac1980; 06-28-2010 at 08:23 AM.. |

I got mad when I saw all the looting. Then I heard the Federal Government saying they would not pay for damages done as a result of their big shin-dig that made me really mad! I think it should be illegal to protest with your face covered, punishable by 30 days in jail, and cops should grab all of the black shirt thugs with their faces covered and book em.

I just read the paper today saying it cost us 1 billion in security to host this!
WTF are we doing hosting this and more taxpayer money gone to shit as well as the cost of Vandalism and the court costs for all those 600+ lowlifes they arrested.

The cops should have been authorized to use deadly force/live ammo on those Black Bloc fuckheads. The only thing they accomplished was guaranteeing a bunch of glass companies are going to have a good month... nice work.
Also I live in Leslieville right near the temp detention centre on Eastern and drove by a few times yesterday, fairly crazy scene but at least traffic was getting through ok.

Blame the media for a lot of this.If they had not been there most of this crap would not have played out to such a huge audience. But that being said,it should have been held at a much more secure remote location like Cold Lake Air Force base.
