I agree. I wish it was all leather for some durability over the coming years. However, the alcantara does feel nice in my hands and I love the grip of the wheel. Quote:
I read about the JBE setup working well to power the wheel. That method means two less wires you have to snake through the center console. |

It seems the 6MT cars have fewer problems with the steering wheel than the DCT cars. I know BMW says it is not designed for the DCT, but still...

I am interested in this purchasing this wheel, for my 2009 M3.
A few questions: 1) Pricing, what did the steering wheel cost? 2) Do they still make the V1 steering wheel, with partial leather? Hopefully this is still available, as I called BMW of Riverside, and they said they no longer offer the Performance steering wheels, V1 or V2. Any help, is much appreciated. |

Hey Diecast,
1) Pricing and ordering can be found here http://www.bmwpartspros.com/partloca...subcat2=178449 2) The V1 which had partial leather is no longer available. You might get lucky in the for sale section if someone has one for sale. The V2 wheel is covered in Alcantara. Jon@bmwpartspros.com can help you out if you want to order a wheel. Hope that helps! |

Did anyone figure out the reset issue for dct guys yet?
And does the jumbo thickness at top ever get annoying?

Hello Everyone,
Has anyone figured out the RPM reading/shift lights not working all the time? Mine has been like this since day one. I have replaced two spring cassettes, two wheels and three modules and still have the problem. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you. |

Thanks for the link to the correct power source to have the memory settings stored! I recently had mine installed and it works and looks great! But doesn't store the settings which is a pain. I'll contact the shop that installed mine and have them fix it during my next visit!
^Yeah, kinda sucks that it's thinner than the stock steering wheel...I actually really liked that about my stock one. lol

Does anyone have one of these working on an e93 M3 with DCT? BMW says they aren't spec'd for the DCT trans? Don't particularly care if it actually works however.

A lot of people do, like myself. But sometimes it behaves badly and the shift light is gone for whatever reason. Next time you turn the engine on, everything is fine. It is something related to resetting the wheel. Mine sometimes work just fine for a long time.
