It has provided real information pertinent to the M3, insights into life and the world in which we live, as well as being a source of some great humor. For me, it has become a part of my daily life as well.

It has actually provided my wife and I with some real quality time. We will both sit together in our kitchen, or on our bedroom sofa. I will be on this site and she will be reading a book or doing word puzzles that she loves. We often share some coffee or some wine, and discuss work, life, kids, etc.

Anyway, I thought it would be great if people could recall some of their most memorable forum moments. It could be a great thread, some great information, a great M3 pic...whatever.

For me, this one thread sticks in my mind.....

A while back a young guy in college was on the forum talking about the M3 his parents had bought him. He was trying to justify this by the fact that he worked really hard in a top name school, got very good grades, and as such, felt he deserved his M3. He felt he really appreciated what he had. I responded by telling him to go into a BMW dealership, tell them about how hard he works, and how good his grades are, and ask them to give him an M3 for this.

His response.....well, there was none. Priceless.

Please share some of your most memorable M3POST moments !!!

You did an internet put down on some young college guy that you probably never met face to face and that was most memorable about you time on this forum?

That doesn’t seem right.

1. I remember it because it was my post

2. I don't consider it a put down. I made no comment whatsoever with regards to this person's personal attributes, etc. since I don't know him from a hole in the wall. I used no profanity or name calling, and made no personal attacks whatsoever.

3. What is undeniable, however, is that I felt the person's argument was flawed. I made a counterpoint that I hope demonstrated clearly why I felt that his argument was flawed. That is all.

4. FWIW, the recent post on power/torque is just as memorable for being one of the most informative and educational posts I have read in quite some time. How's that?

That still cracks me up.

My favorite forum moments:
- anything that Bruce Augenstein writes
- Rolf-Dieter polls
- This forum's intolerance for troll or troll-like questions
- E=MC2 blow-up about Corvette's being too big
- The great DIY's that helped me pop my wrenching cherry
- The great track discussions

There is a thread on here of this teenager in an E93 M3 who posted videos of himself bragging about how Youtube (and his dad) paid for his car.

Also, there was another thread teenager who claimed to own a Frozen Grey M5 and his mom just bought a Lime Rock M3 (then he changed his post to say that it was his Lime Rock in addition to the M5).

Or, the kid in the E46 M3 who jumped and wrecked his car, airbag and hoodie deploying, then blaming the wreck on "not knowing the road was the cause, not driver skill."

Kids. lol.

These are going way back to 2008/2009....

-dude who put blue painters tape over his car for the drive home from the dealership to avoid rock chips before installing his clear bra. Find the thread if you ever wanted to see an M3 covered in painters tape.

-dude showing off his exhaust...loud as hell...on residential streets. As if that wasn't hilarious enough...he busted out with showing off his exhaust in aggressive reverse style. Unexpected and classic.

Good stuff!!

Im thinking that also...

The one where the guys were arguing about wheel quality and it turned out that one of the employees was posting as a "customer" but strangely enough ONLY posted when the wheel manufacturer was getting their balls busted.

Not saying it wasn't a bad idea. There's a pick of it here somewhere...and at the time...it was pretty damn funny. This was around the time we were all waiting for the 08s to arrive after 2-3 years of spy piks and rumors. So everyone was super psyched and paranoid. Nothing but respect for the love of a new M.

I have full frontal clear bra and in some other select spots on my car...so I definitely appreciate the painters tape move. Love the fact that "in theory" I can remove the wrap 5+ years later to expose virgin paint. The clear bra has saved my paint from what would have been some serious dings over time.

That one guy who saw a the riced-out E46 325i with a GTR hood, running a "K&N Supercharger with 400lbs of boost," and an intercooler that wasn't connected to anything, among other things.

I can't for the life of me find the thread, but I was still able to find the videos on YouTube

Oh yeah I remember E=MC2. I noticed he got banned a while back.. Damn every post that guy made was trolling at its essence. I wonder if hes been back under a different handle.
