having second thoughts need some help

I ordered the Gintani sport with HFC x pipe Gintani pulley and tune.

I am worried the car just wont sound loud enough for me. The m is my weekend fun car, so a really loud exhaust is not a problem. I was thinking going with the race exhaust rather than the sport.

Also thinking about not getting the x-pipe and saving some $$. My ONLY concern would be drawing attention from police.

Those of you with the race exhaust are you getting pulled over a lot?

Thank you for the mention.

OP: If you wanna grab every single persons attention on this planet, then go for what I have.

I think you made the right choice by going for something very loud, but not OUTSTANDINGLY loud like my set-up. Mine certainly does grab attention from cops. Somehow they're always waiting for me a mile ahead, and I feel that it's because of how loud my Gintani Race w/catless x-pipe is.

If you truly want crazy loud, go for what I exactly have, or something very similar to it.

Hey thanks for the reply. How would the sport/hfc combo sound compared to say just the race axle back? also would the sport/catless sound louder than the sport/hfc xpipe combo?

I had the full gintani race + catless xpipe and it was beyond beast status. Surprisingly I never got pulled over with it. Just got tailed by cops about 10 times, with them flashing their spotlight at me a couple times.

I would say Sport/HFC is louder than race alone --- it will sound more "full."

Also, catless will sound a bit more raw/raspy and about 10-15% louder.

Why would they shine their lights at you?

And what the heck where you thinking with that set-up? I've always thought you were going for a more mellow and drone free exhaust?

what about the sound diff between the two setups? Will I really notice the powert diff between just a race exhaust and a sport/xpipe hfc combo?

I wouldn't want to give you a wrong answer on this, since I haven't heard or experienced the sport/hfc combo. Yet I believe MrHarris' answer is valid.

No, I don't get pulled over very much (knock on wood ). As long as you don't make it a habit of keeping the noise up & catching everyone's attention all the time, you should be ok. Although I've heard that the cops in California are more strict on the noise level, compared to the cops in Texas.

Overall, I think you're safe going for what you already ordered from Gintani. My set-up is way too intense, and I feel that most folks would not be able to tolerate it, even if the M3's going to be a weekend car.
