I was going to go with either Ryan or David, but I thought I'd give my local dealer 1 shot. I'd been in before for a test drive, and they also didn't offer me enough for my trade. I simply called him up and said I was buying that day. And that I had another offer to order at invoice + $500. Surprisingly, they agreed. I'm not a big options guy.
MSRP= 58,825 Out the Door= 52,975 + TTL (including GGT and Dest.) I'm selling my car myself (or keeping it, it's paid for). Give a local dealer a chance at least. They give much better service afterwards as well. |

I have been searching inventories, but most of the dealers within 600 miles of me have cars that are optioned to the hilt. I would say that the average is in the mid 70K range, which is just insane on some level.

I just wanted the engine! I hate the way the navi screen breaks up the dash board. Leather in Texas in August? I love the cloth seats. My CA admitted he had never seen the cloth seats in person, and complimented them. My buddy got a loaded 335. I paid less for my M3. He's the disappointed one...

That's why the best route is to just order what you want and be done with it...it looks like that's what I will end up doing.

You may want to get a buy bid from Carmax. I'm strongly considering getting rid of a C350 my wife drives, she wants an M3. I had a trade bid from the Mercedes dealer we bought the C350 from, looking at the CLS550. I went to Carmax last weekend and got a bid from them for the exact same amount.
I'm considering CPO cars, but there are none around here and not that many desirable ones for a decent price anywhere. With the loyalty rebate, club rebate and invoice+ pricing, it makes more sense to get a new one. Our local dealer is fairly stingy, but was able to get them to agree to an amount that makes it close to ordering a car from Ryan or another distant dealer and shipping it. PCD appeals to me, but it gets very expensive for me to take days off, so it's not really worth it. |
