What style OEM 18's are these?

The inside of the rim on the other pics I've seen show BBS and have the markings in a different spot. I was wondering whether I had 219m or 260m or what these were. They were stock on my euro delivery. Thanks

260 replaced the 219.

Oh I didn't know that. And it seems the the back of the rims are designed differently then earlier 260s were. I'm hoping they are still made by BBS.

ITALY is stamped on them so I doubt they are BBS.

I guess BMW changed manufacturers but kept the same style since previous 260s had the BBS logo.

I thought the OEM 260M was made by BBS and the short-lived replicas were made in Italy?

I wonder if the ones you posted are reps. OEM BMW wheels always have the manufacturer name stamped inside, such as BBS, KAG, Fuchs, etc. Then again, I've never seen photos of the backside of 260Ms.

mine ferric grey ones look identical at the back except 1 digit difference on the part number ( clearly for the colour difference as some where silver),
they are also stamped ITALY, if you look at every marking they are identical, excuse the clean alloy, i had to polish them up with a mechanical wire brush due to the corrosion on them. Here in europe the 260m is a very sought after wheel as not many cars were ordered with them.

this site sells OEM wheels, click he link and look the pics of the 260m wheel, it cycles through to another rear pic, again the markings look identical to mine due to the colour, part number also matches my ferric grey wheel oem wheel..

as he quoted they were stock on his euro delivery, i very much doubt bmw supplied a new car with reps on

So BMW apparently made a set of 260m's from BBS and then made a different set from Italy which we have and also made the 219m's which look similar. Maybe I'll have to call or write BMW to find out about these rims since I'd like to know the details before I sell or keep them. I guess we are part of the Italian made 260m club!

Interesting, I didn't know they had two vendors for the 260Ms. Learn something new every day!

from what I've read they didn't, the 219m was always made by bbs and the 260m was always made by cromodora.
which may explain the subtle difference between the two wheels??

I don't think the difference between the 219M and 260M is subtle.

The spokes look different, the center is different, the curvature of the spokes is different. The 260M's flatter spokes allows for clearance of larger brakes but the 219M has a deeper concave look. The center is larger on the 260M. The 219M has longer spokes, the spokes have a design to it, spokes widen as it flares out from the center and overall has the appearance of a larger wheel.

To the untrained eye/casual observer, they're very similar.

Until I bought my M3, I didn't realize there was a fourth OEM wheel...I just knew about the stock 18" (219), the optional 19" (220), and the Competition Package (359) wheel.

I do agree that a closer look shows them to be quite different. What's weird is that the F10 M5 has the 345 wheel which looks similar to the 219:

That's a good looking wheel there (the 345). Looks like what would come out if the 219 and 220 had a kid.
