Exhaust, drop in intake filter (AA one is great) and a tune would be my first.

Exhaust is great but that isn't the first thing I would do. I would eliminate the chrome grills, gills, and M3 emblem. Next I would have the front reflectors shaved / deleted (I hate the orange reflectors and the common painted reflector mod). Then it would be suspension (lowering via springs or coilovers), next is wheels/tires, then exhaust and tune (changing exhaust without removing primary cats has no power gain, removing primaries requires a tune), last would be big brake kit.

I would suggest basic cosmetic mods.... window tint, reflector delete, key hole delete, front grills, side grills, LUX, etc.
Get some miles behind the wheel so that when you do make suggested changes to intake, exhaust, etc., you will have background to see/hear/feel the changes.

OP, if you opt for the Akra Evo system, also consider stage 2 software. There are several vendors (ESS, Evolve, BPM Sport, etc.) who offer products. Otherwise trim pieces from IND would be a good starting point.

no mod is the best. The ONLY mod i would ever do is Gintanni's rear mounted TWIN TURBO for the S65. 7 bar of compression. Anything else including exhausts, intake filter, pulley slipping, is just too RICE for me.

I dunno, take a big poop, go on a diet? Weight loss!
Spending money on driving experience will improve your speed more than any mod can. Whether it's driving school or track days or just autocrosses it doesn't matter much at first, seat time is key. If you want cosmetic changes then make those but those aren't really mods. It really irks me when people say they 'modded' their car with a keyhole delete and painted reflectors or even new wheels unless they get huge 18x11s and 315 tires or something. Those aren't mods, they are changes. Alterations. I think the exhaust is fine but that's just me. My old car has a super loud exhaust and we couldn't take it anywhere it was so bad. You don't hear the stock exhaust much but that's the point. The engine sound is better. |
