My evolve tune and exhaust e63 m6 put down a healthy 465 whp and a stock f10 m6 put down 500 right after. Evolve is no joke

Great cars but are you seriously calling this a track?

I was waiting for some excitement and then just didnt even bother finishing the video. No shit the cars are fast in a straight line. Its rather boring.

WHOA!

Your saying the Evolve M3 just massacred the R8 ( nothing particularly special)

but then an F10 M5 , thats also tuned- waiting on some numbers but hell that car impressively beat the E60

And then an ESS 625 M3?

The ESS car cant be running right, they put down well over 550 rwhp at 7.5psi on over Id say 90% of the dyno's. So either the Evolve car is making more than that (at 6.5 PSI) or the ESS has a boost leak.

What I do like though, is that the evolve M3 seems to have gobbs of Torque at any rpm range, every run itthere started pulling, no waiting for boost.. I do very much like that, just what the M3 needs, down low TQ

I don't get why always the comment of the ESS car is broken. Steve's car already beat a fully bolt on 600 kit and nw this. No to hard to believe

Ah.. Im watching the other video's now. This same Evolve car beat an ESS 650 DCT car a few weeks back. Looks like that was a very close race; within a car or so. I have to search for that thread, but i remember the TQ produced by the rotrex s/c was the deciding factor in that run.

If so, then the slaughter of the ESS 625 MT car would be expected.

Seems the Evolve kit is running very well from its other video against a tuned GT500 (550-570rwhp) that was neck and neck. Given the GT500 uses a Positive displacement (just like the HARROP) and they have instant boost/tq, that would substantiate the claims of rotrex owners saying its a beast in the low rpms. Its nice to see a combination that has TQ low and HP high, thats just what the S65 needs

I have the same blower with my Active Kit. Have yet to run any ESS cars, but will soon. I have compared my dyno with many ESS kits and usually find that even though they will peak higher at redline I usually have more HP/TQ everyhwere else except the very top of the RPM range. Being that peak hp is only hit for a fraction of the full rev range these results don't surprise me. The Rotrex blower is no joke.

Makes sense- more power, earlier, equates to moving faster. So as car A is already moving faster, car B needs a major HP advantage to overcome car A's forward momentum.

That's why some people dont even try to argue peak HP, but AVG HP, as some dyno's give that number as well.

That was a fun event

FWIW- my car is running perfectly fine. This is just the result of a 6MT car with stock gears vs. a DCT car with gears..

Yep. Either way, Steve's car is pretty dang fast! An ESS DCT car will definitely give a better run for his money.

There should be lots of action at the November event!

Bingo

Racing up to 120+ MPH a DCT car can net an easy 2-3 car lengths over a manual car if power is equal depending on the skill of the manual driver. Gears will also give the M3 more pull off the line at lower speeds.

The only independent Dyno I have seen of the evolve kit was posted in the dyno database "link below". At 6.7 psi it makes less HP than an ESS VT1-550 kit running 5 psi and there is nothing in the graph to suggest a power advantage anywhere in the power curve as some has suggested. My guess is that the car you ran against is not running the 6.7 psi that the owner of the car in the dyno database is. If it was only making around 450 WHP then you should have been able to run at least equal or beat it if your manual VT2-625 is making 520+ WHP as most do.

Guys don't compare a car that has been dyno tuned and a car with a flash.

Not saying anyone here did that but there could be a massive gap in advertised power because of how the car was tuned. Typically, you can expect as much or more than 5% gains when a car visits the dyno for real tuning.

335 Cobb guys are seeing 40+ WHP with dyno tunes and all the bolt on's over the base maps they give you

I dont see any boost logs with that dyno, 450 is low, and thats is not realistic for 6+ PSI, regardless of who does it. Isnt Wayne the guy that did the home install? Maybe his car is the one not running right, as every video of this evolve M3 shows its running very very well.

autocouture- love the attitude, that tells us your not in it for the money but for the atmosphere and fun- your builds show some beautiful cars, its great to see they can go as much as they show. Would love to see DCT Vs DCT; No matter who the winner is, as they are still driving boosted M3s and im sure loving every second of it.

If our cars were making 450rwhp with 6.5 PSi we would never have even thought of releasing such an inefficient kit.

Steven Nestore's car runs 6.7 PSi. Wayne's car ran under 5 PSi on when it made 450rwhp due to one of the vacuum hoses not being connected to bank 1 blow off valve. Once connected back up, runs a consistent 6.5 PSi on the road again.
