Wheels Prices
Omg. I was looking at the rims below for my AW M3 Coupe and figured I would do in inquiry. 6000 Dollars will be the charge and a 6 week wait time, which is ok, but 6k? What are the average prices you pay or would pay for a set of wheels. The rims would be 20s if ordered. Most likely I will get them but the price seems a bit steep. Here is the link where they can be found:

Well you paying for Bling factor or performance?
In the case of these wheels you are def paying for bling... Which isn't worth it imo...

Bling? On an M3? That was not intended. I like`em because they match the car perfectly. Best I`ve seen in a while. Carbon to match the carbon on the car. And white pinstripe for that little extra. Where is the bling factor? But that is your opinion and I respect that. But no bling bling for my ride. EVER!

If you want performance I would go with 18 inch Volks or BBS rims. I would also look at 19 inch rims since a wide variety of tires come in 19 inches, but 20 is pushing it into Bling Central. PS: 360 Forged has Carbon fiber rims |

Basic wheels 19"...................$3950 the set Carbon-look centers.............$1600 the set Black lip with pinstripe..........$1000 the set Total as described................$6550 wheels alone Oh yeah. Shipping and handling for overseas will be around 800 dollars plus insurance. So im looking a bit over 7k. That is a bit pricey dont you think?

Forget 360 forged or Modular Concept. I have had both before and I will only buy HRE wheels from now on. Their quality is unmatched. Plus resale value of HRE is a lot higher.

CF centers is the new chrome.....
CF barrels.. Thats a different story.. Although ive seen wheel flex shots from cameras mounted inside fender wells... When you see a vid of a car you were driving and the wheel is flexing over an inch.. it will give you a new respect for wheel design and manufacturing.. its not as simple as one would think... And im not sure how the CF will take the flex over time if pushed hard...

Is there a rule that F1 has to you metal for their wheels?
If not then there is your answer right there.. If they still use metal. then there is a good reason... Im talking about the barrel not the center..

EDIT: To the OP, if you must go the carbon fiber route, spend a little more and get the Dymags. Or you can buy a low-mileage used set from a member here who is selling and parting out his car right now.

The wheels the OP posted are nothing but bling...20" and carbon overlays add weight and cost to a wheel that is posing as a lightweight option. |

Agreed...Major bling. Next thing we'll see is sticky CF tape rolls at auto parts stores. They'll be right next to the crome skull valve caps and the sparkly disco balls.
