Crashed M3

I saw this one at my dealer other day and this was a brand new car with less than 3K miles, pretty sad when the insurance told the guy that they are going to fix his car. Losted in launch control and hit a light pole.

They're gonna fix that? Shit, I'd RUN...... Sorry to the owner that's gonna have this repaired; I wouldn't want it even if it's given to me free, knowing that the car has gone through this damage..

the guy is lucky to be alive and it probably wasn't the smartest move using launch control on the street

Hmmm one of the vendors should look into making a clear rear tail lighting housing/cover like they have on the new 5'er. That clear/whote color where his tail lights were look pretty cool on the SG. Of course That just IMO. No need to flame. But yea it's gonna suck bad to drive that thing around after it gets so called fixed

Its sad but here in NY there arent many places to launch either.. Honestly the safest is the track, but the problem there is you dont get as many chances to play around with runs, buttons, etc without waiting your friggen turn..

Ive seen some scary stories about people launching in stupid places and doing just this.. Its really no joke.. At least the drivers okay im assuming.. It looks like the frame is twisted, axle is messed up and a whole lot of other crap.. I cant believe the insurance is fixing it either.

bummer, hope the driver is ok. thats a lot of damage to have it fixed and not totaled. Going to suck when he tries to get rid of it.

Unless he simply turns back into his dealer when the lease is up...

Thought that too...the "are" was supposed to be an "aren't"...because he was using LC when it occurred, insurance was refusing to fix it.
Sure looks like an awful expensive repair to not just total it.

This is exactly why a few of us raised eyebrows a couple of weeks ago in response to another post that asked for assistance in proper launch control technique. The poster provided a video of his attempt, and it was apparent from the video that he shot it himself while driving, focusing the camera on the instrument cluster with his shaky hand as he launched the car on the street at night. It's one thing to do it on a public road when you have good conditions, can see well, know that there are no other cars or people around to hit, and you're using BOTH hands on the wheel and focusing on driving the car, it's another to launch while trying to video. Might as well have been talking on the phone and eating a Big Mac at the same time...
