Right, so when they do source one again, it'll probably be $50k!

I know people covet the ZCP package, but that 2009 SG 6MT currently FS here w/ rod bearings done is a sweet, clean car.

My zcp interest has come down significantly, and I fully agree with you that the 2009 car you mention is a nice one given the maintenance.

But if I consider that I had few requirements - zcp, sedan, 2011, 6 mt, and low mileage - and am already looking for non-zcp cars, i just want to be a bit more patient before dropping any other requirement especially as I am not in a hurry.

Thanks for the chime, always helpful to get opinions especially those that point out the importance of maintenance.

I'm with you, if you're not in a hurry and have a list of requirements/must-haves (just like I always do), no sense in settling. Took me 9-10 months to find my X5.

One this is for sure, and you've obviously noticed this, these cars (low mileage E90's) seem harder to find today than a year ago, so many people want them and are scooping them up.

Take your time - they are out there - you just need to be patient - some would say I have 2 unicorns - a 11 e90 ZCP 6 MT with 25k, as well as, a LRP DCT with less than 5k - that I bought within a year of each other. Keep searching - they are out there...

Thank you for the encouragement.

Man...a low mileage zcp 6mt AND a 5k LRP???

I am now positively envious and have tremendous

Care to share your views on how your M3s compare in terms of connection, responsiveness and satisfaction? (nope, not getting into the DCT is better than 6mt debate - purely asking your personal opinions on each of those stunning cars you have.)

Please let me know if you will be in the NY area anytime with either of them. Will love to see them and introduce myself.

Thanks again,

Interesting that you mention it.

Another member and I were discussing why this sudden demand could be and he made a wise observation that many of the current F series M3 owners whose leases are up are probably getting back to the E cars.

I can see this for sure. The F80 has zero soul and is a little kids car IMO

2014-2015 F8x are coming up on end of Lease and few of them are going back into an E9x.

I was at the dealer exploring today. The F8X cars sure do look pretty in the showroom.

Wait - my sarcasm meter is off today and in the absence of any emoticons, I am not sure if this is nod to the nice looks of the F8x or a subtle dig.

Not at all. Walk into any BMW dealership and almost every car in the showroom just looks incredible. Especially the F8X cars. I think it would be difficult for anyone to disagree about that statement. It's a whole other thing however to actually own one and after driving it for some time to wish they were back in an E9X. And to be clear, I am only referring to standing in a showroom and seeing a brand new, well stanced vehicle with shiny new paint and beautiful leather interior which has nothing to do with actually owning one and driving it every day.

You may be on to something. Too bad the seller has it as pending. That car would suit you just fine Rajan

UPDATE:

I consider extremely lucky to be in this forum and getting some splendid guidance from many of you here.

Special thanks to BOOF specifically as he was the one who pointed out Erie Von Otto's listing to me on Thursday that hit every single of my requirement. Thank you Mark!

Erie Van Otto, the seller, is one heck of an individual and I truly consider it an honor to get to know him. Not only was he extremely helpful in providing all the information I requested and reaching out to the German dealership for more records, but as an individual, he is a fun, humble and an extremely knowledgeable person tackling so many responsibilities that humbled me so much. I am neither exaggerating nor praising lavishes just because he sold the car to me.

After a few conversations with him - and with Boof + another member here Derbo , - I became motivated to improve my status from the current 'dumb' to 'dumb+' . And, Erie Van Otto's passion for the car rubbed off so much that I have promised myself to do my best to take care of this rare car as close to how he did it.

Funds were transferred, and the next step of the process begins.

I am however traveling out of the country for a few weeks, and so don't think I will see this lovely car until I am back early March. Oh well, I have been patient for so long and so a few more weeks shouldn't be that bad.

Will update the thread title once I am back.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!
