I only have about 6 months left on my rear tires. Michelin, I need a 285/30/19. Please hurry.

Exactly what I'm thinking Longbow, going to have to go another way if they don't hit soon.

Got mine mounted a couple weeks back and loving them so far. Additional grip is very obvious on launch and in tight curves. Guys' driving trip in the Arkansas Ozarks this weekend will give a much better sense of what they're capable of.

For reference, here's what 255/35 and 275/35 looks like on the 220Ms with no spacers and stock ride height (no ZCP).

Spacers? Stock wheels/suspension?

Do you happen to have a straight on side profile of how they look? Looking to go with exact same sizes but would like to see how "meaty" they look compared to stock. Thank you.

Maybe I didn't notice these before but I went to the Michelin webpage and 285/35ZR19/XL 103 (Y) and 285/25ZR20/XL 93 (Y) are available now. I think the 285/35/19 are a bit too tall, but I guess they would work with a 265/35/19.

I realize this post is 2 years old. I just replaced my OEM P-Zeros with Pilot Super Sports (I had 4 sets of PS2s on my previous 335i coupe). Not sure what to think, yet. Originally went with a 295/30 in the rear b/c Discount Tires had no other options and I had an unrepairable tire. That size was a definite no-no. The size "works" according to the software guide, but definitely feels wrong on the car. Got that changed out 2 days later with a special order size.

Eventually went with new PSS 245/35/19 f and 265/35/19 r, but still the car feels floaty, has less crisp turn in, and feels a bit numb on center... but does ride much quieter.

Hoping a new 4 wheel road load balance and alignment will help.

Anyone else have similar experience w/r/t 245 and 265?

How many miles do you have on the PSS's? Air pressure? I've had PZero's and PSS's, I felt the PSS's had better response than the PZero...solid straight line and turn in. Maybe your PSS's aren't scrubbed in yet?

Definitely found this to be the case. Went +3 on the rear and it was a huge mistake. Felt completely wrong, slow, and unbalanced. Went back to OEM size and I'm much happier.

Running 36psi f and 38psi r. (It's 100º in Texas right now. Maybe this is too much cold tire pressure?) Only about 200 miles on them. It _does_ seem like they are beginning to get a bit more feel over time. My experience with PS2s on other cars was the "break in" period was only about 10-15 miles. I've read others that the PSS takes much longer to scrub in, so hopefully this is the case.

I'm on PS2's with my new M3, love them too! They're definitely my favorite OEM offering. I'll get a chance to A/B the PS2's w/PSS's really close once I get my new wheels. It did seem like I had to put at least a few hundred miles on the PSS's before they felt right.

Reporting back after 350 miles on Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I have 245/35/19 36 PSI f and 265/35/19 38 PSI r on my 2011 e92 ZCP. I am amazed at how much they have changed in character since "scrubbing in." My experience with several previous sets of PS2s on an 08' 335i Sport Package left me thinking new tires were ready to roll after driving around the block a couple of times.

How mistaken I was. It's taken ~350 miles of road, city, and spirited driving to get to the point where I can say these are the tires that were made for the M3.

The PSS's have superb road feel, with nuance and precision, insane grip levels, and are relatively quiet. They did not feel precise or particularly grippy when brand new, but I'm happy to report on their earned charisma. I couldn't be happier.

Any insight on this? I'm in a similar situation. I don't really think there is a problem with that since I'm not pushing the car on track or anything.

Any advice?

Mixing tires F/R, while not the best, is fine if you test the cars limits gradually to avoid any unwelcome surprises. If running PSSs on front with PS2s on rear there is likely to be more understeer.

Should I be running 36PSI front and 38PSI rear?

also talked to a mechanic yesterday... he stated: "I set the tire pressure at 40PSI all around during the balance. Oh, don't drive aggressively with hard braking for the next 2 days. Keep the tire pressure the same... If you drive aggressively, brake hard, or even change the pressure, you might throw off the balance on the tires on the wheels. This is because there's still lubricants on the wheel. Etc etc." Any of this sound right?

I was also pretty amazed at my confidence levels with these on a drive through some curvy back roads this past Saturday. I was taking corners at well over double the indicated speed rating (in the past it's been double or a little less). I'm on 255/275, and three track days have increased my trust in this car and these tires considerably as well.

255/275 with spacers. 275/295 are too wide for ZCP wheels.

What spacers would you run? Could you get away with 12.5 all around or would you go 12.5/10?

I'm running 12.5 mm Turner spacers on all four corners. The rear looks like it might have a tiny bit of room still with 265 on there but there is definitely room to grow on the front; I could easily get a 15 mm on there right now.

Also, any perceptible steering impact from the 255 on front? Would hate to numb things up even if only a tad.

Take a look at this thread to see what others have done with spacers and various tire sizes on OEM wheels:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...=spacer+thread

You already own 12.5 mm spacers. I would get the tires and try the 12.5mm spacers first. If they don't work take them off and order something more conservative. I'm not a fan of 10mm spacers because I have not found that they sit flush with the wheel's mounting face on those that I have tested them with (due to the taper at the hub). I have not tried them with OEM wheels... others seem to have success with OEM wheels and 10mm spacers.

A 255mm tire on a 9" ZCP wheel should have plenty of support and i would not expect a perceivable "numbing" of the steering. A 255mm tire on an 8.5" wheel may result in some numbness. I would definitely not hesitate to run the 255/275 tires on ZCP wheels. I would probably stick with the OEM tire sizes on OEM 220m wheels which are 8.5" and 9.5" widths.

I'm running the 220s, so you'd need feedback from someone with the GTS wheels - are those completely different than the ZCP, or are they identical?

I got mine from TireRack - have used them several times in the past.

The GTS wheels are identical to the ZCP only painted satin black.
