Turned 50K miles on the car today!!!

i've owned it since April this year with 44K miles.

I have to say it's a great car. i've only done the exhaust mod, gloss kidney grills and i'm about to install the bumper color matched reflectors.

very fun car. can't complain at all.

Agreed that those mods are on my "never" list, but wouldn't go so far as to say they are the worst because there are some worse mod options IMO. e.g. all weight adding mods, slammed, camber (think "stance"), etc.., Subjectivity still wins the day...for everyone.

Yep, exhaust mod and black kidneys is a must on this car!

OP, congrats on 50k! You're right, this car is exceptional...and the 3 mods you're planning are going to make the car more enjoyable for you

yeah those are the mods i already have done....

i'm only keeping the car for another year so that's why i'm not dumping a ton of $$ into it.

i feel like i'm kind of past that stage in my life and need to look at more investing long term. i'd rather just buy a more expensive car and do some light mods, so hopefully next car will be F83 M4.....but who knows...i always get that itch....

Why does everyone need to share their negative opinion on what the op is doing on HIS car. Color matched corners are a must, gloss black grill looks great (bmw even thinks so, that's why they make them available) and exhaust mod is great, beautiful sounding engine that needs to be heard..

OP do it and enjoy

Because diversity of thought and opinion trumps the herd mentality. It's OPs prerogative to do as he wishes with "HIS" car, but both +ve and -ve comments are legit.

So wait - all these guys that say black/color matched kidneys/gills/reflectors are lame - do you just leave all that stuff chrome/orange? I couldn't wait to get rid of the chrome on my Jerez.

For me the chrome off sets the color of my car nicely and the orange front bumper reflectors contrast the color nicely too. Plus it's an egress issue. Making all these changes just makes the car looks dull unless that's the going taste these days lol

Obviously it depends on the person, but I think it also depends on the color of the car. On some colors, chrome appeals to more people than others. For me personally, the chrome looked out of place on a Jerez Black sports car. I have all the original stuff, so when I go to sell, if the person likes chrome, I will spend the 15 minutes swapping the pieces for them.

I hear you. This car has been a total joy for me for the past 5 years. I have the Black Chrome kidneys, side gills and colored reflectors from IND. I go back and forth on the kidneys, like it both ways. The stock exhaust is the first thing I've touched on my M3's. I'm an MPE fan, nothing crazy. I'm really glad I've outgrown my HRE wheel phase. Enjoy!

Have Jerez, black grilles are a must.

haha, funny to see these comments. like i said i'm keeping it subtle because 1) i'm getting rid of the car in a year 2) i'm past the phase of dumping $10K+ into a car

i think the mods look good imo...to each his own.

but i always find it funny...the guys that say it looks like shiet probably wouldn't have the balls to say it to my face....

You mad bro? If it makes you feel any better I actually told a guy once at a bimmer meets ups n drive that ur looked atrocious! I've always have high regards for European cars as something classy, not trashy. Besides it's just one opinion, so don't trip fool. It's not like I was trying to be a jerk when I commented on his car, just my opinion
