Need Recommendation for Black wheels for Jet Black E92/M3

Hey folks,

I purchased my 1st M3 in Dec '08 as it has always been a dream car since my 1st BMW back in '96 (traded my '07 335i as I just couldn't resist the deals on the M's). I've been reading/looking at this forum for ideas for custom wheels to set the car off from the crowd a little and give it a slightly custom look.

I've searched several threads over the past several weeks but have been unable to get a whole lot of info or pics of Black Wheel options for Jet Black E92/M3. Here's my basic criteria:

1. My M3 is a Jet Black Sedan with 19" wheels
2. Want custom look
3. Kinda want something different than polished, brushed, chrome wheels
4. At the end of the day, I want a slightly customized look that portrays race-styling

I like the 360 Mesh 8's with black centers and polished tips but I don't want to drop $6K on the wheels. I really like the HRE Monobloc P40's in black but I'm concerned how these will look on a Jet Black M3. I'm looking for pics of black on black, opinions on look of this combination, and black polished vs. black matte. Thanks in advance for the help.

HRE's will cost more than 360's....... So if your considering P40's go with the mesh 8's!

Def. contact Miguel and get a set of 360's you wont be dissapointed.

Thanks to all who responded! I've checked out all recommendations but I have a quote on the P40 monoblocs 19" for around $1250 for all four. I think that this is what I'm going to go with and put Winter tires on my 19" stock wheels.

Are you sure its not $1250 a wheel? No way HRE P40s are $1250 for all four. If someone is telling you so, those wheels are not HRE.

camaross305--great suggestion. BTW, your car is just sick - I love your SL 10s. I am leaning towards the black/chrome Mesh 8s myself.

Ditto whatever wheels your getting are fake because hre's are around 5000-6000$ for the set...... Honestly 1250 would be a really good deal per wheel.

I saw the wheels in person; the wheels are brand new. I'm buying them from a Salesperson at my dealer but as a private sell. The guy is very reputable; used to own a race tuning shop in Lithuania and race rally sport...really a great person...I would have a hard time believing he would try anything non-legit. I'm going to call him tomorrow; I'll get some pics and confirm that the price is for all 4 wheels...thank you for the heads-up. I'll post what I find out.

OK...here's the scoop...I guess I misunderstood the gentleman. The price is $3500 for the entire set. The wheels were ordered by another customer that didn't end up taking them. The gentlemen said he could get me a little more off of them..maybe $100 or $200. Wheels are brand new with M3 19" stock tires but the price DOES NOT include the tires which he will remove. By all accounts on this thread, the price is still good. I really like the 360 Mesh 8's; I guess I'll be calling Miguel as suggested to see what 360's pricing is. Thanks to all again for the help and suggestions!

Ok that makes more sense.... kinda sucks that they are 19's but still a real good price none the less...... def. give 360 a call before you make your decision

I'd get a set of p40, p41 and p47 and switch every couple of weeks if they were 1200 a set

I called 360 today and asked for Miguel...he wasn't in; I spoke to Scott; he was very helpful. I mentioned the m3post forum and right-away he offered a discount withouy my even asking. I think at this point I'm going with the 360 Mesh8 with black gloss centers, chrome lip, and brushed center cap. Thanks again for all the help. BTW...how do you get those blue running lights (the ring around the light)?

re: 19's...I really have to get 19's because of the roads in/around Chicago...they are pot-hole mania. I just busted a tire on my 335i a few months ago. I bought the Auto Nation tire/wheel insurance so it was taken care of and I also got it on my M3. I really like the look of the 20's but I'm scared of all the pot holes.
