Looks like the GT-R is getting contagious around here, Blake?

The 2011s only come in the Premium trim and sticker for just north of $85k. The invoice on the car is about $80k. I gave a little over invoice, but not much. Being a repeat customer helps some.

To be completely honest I should have gone straight from the IS-F to the GT-R. The M3 is a great car, but I never really connected with it on an emotional level. I'm not really sure why this is because it was the easiest car I have owned to drive fast. The feedback from the chassis and neutral handling gave me plenty of confidence. Maybe the M3 was just too polished for this redneck.
Oh, ok cool.

I never did much research on the 2011's, and I stopped my research after the 2010 MY. I forgot that the price went up a bit compared to last year's model, but I've heard that it's upgraded slightly too, so that's good.

The M3 is a bit more polished than I wanted as well, but overall I still feel that it's very entertaining & rewarding to drive in its own way, like you mentioned.

I can understand that sometimes it takes time for an individual to find the right vehicle which suits his/her needs & wants better.

Now that you have a GT-R, I'm sure you'll be receiving much more attention than when you were in the M.

Good luck with your new supercar, and I hope you enjoy it!

Btw, I really like your exterior color, combined with the darker wheels. Looks very unique and separates it from the look of other GT-R's.

The Nissan GT-R is the cheapest exotic you can buy imo...and I am a 911 fan/owner. The GT-R turns (guy) heads like screws.

The 2011s have a few upgrades. It is mostly small stuff like auto on/off headlights (I was shocked that the GT-R didn't have this all along), slightly revised suspension, extra floor cooling vents in the cabin, an extra layer of clear coat on the front and rear of the car, speed sensitive wipers and a few tweaks to the NAV like Bluetooth streaming audio and XM Traffic/Weather. I also think the standard near black wheel color is a 2011 thing, but I'm not sure.

You're relentless, and it looks like you'll never stop modding, even after you reach your 750 whp goal after your planned mods!

Great car! Seriously I'm in the same situation that you are in. When you talk about weekend joy riding and not driving during the weekdays, I completely understand. I have a C300 and I drive that Mon-Thur. On Fri-Sun' I drive the M3. Like you said it's just not enough..

The GTR is damn good. A beast but magical in it's driving feel and handling. The Attesa is incredible as it's a great AWD that feels like RWD. There's not much else to lust for after the GTR. Be safe and enjoy.

Can someone clarify the maintenance costs on the GTR? I love the car, but if what I hear is true I'm glad I didn't get one.
At 16k is there really a 2k maintenance? I'm at 12.5k miles on my M, I damn near wouldnt drive the car if my GTR was getting close to 16k lol.

Congrats on the purchase... I actually bought my GTR first and then because of the transmission (and other things) I got an M3. Mine is a 2009 and I wish it had some of the upgrades you got. Whats funny is I forgot to turn off my lights and they went off on their own a few minutes later- not sure why??

The M3 is the refined daily driver for me while the GT-R and 997TT take their turns on the weekend. I never drive the IS-F.

Enjoy all the performance it has to offer; it sure does love mods too. SP engineering did all of my engine mods and their super built car just ran 9.6 at 149 in AZ. Im pushing 545 awhp in mine and that is plenty already. I cant imagine having over 800 awhp like that car.

Maintenance is pretty high on the GT-R from what I was told at the dealer. Oil changes run about $200 and the 18k service is close to $2k. Please keep in mind these are price quotes from a dealer. I'm sure there are ways to save some money if you do your research. Some of the guys on here that have had their GT-Rs for a bit can probably give you a better answer. You might also want to do some research over on NAGTROC if you are getting serious about picking up a GT-R.
