ESS VT-2 625 Kit, BOV options?

Hey,

Been contemplating about getting a BOV for my VT2 kit. I was told I need a recirculating version by GReddy. Any other options? Anyone running BOV with their ESS kits?

Thanks!

I was told by a local shop that I need to find a recirculating BOV as the ESS system is designed to do so.

There are several companies that make those, including Perrin, HKS and Tial. For example:

You already have one installed. Remove the recirculation hose and cap off the inlet on the the charge pipe.

If you want something extra noisy the Tial will do, but if you have DCT it will sound like your car is having an asthma attack every time you're part throttle.

hmmmm. What do you mean by removing the re circulation hose and cap off the inlet, what would that do for me?

Nothing other than make noise in between shifts/under vacuum, since you're venting to atmosphere.

You do not need additional parts, other than a cap for the charge pipe.

Not really. The BOV vents excess air, so when not connected to the charge pipe, it vents excess air into the atmosphere. When connected to the charge pipe, it recycles that excess air back into the charge pipe for the compressor to use again.

I see I see, I was told that my tune was design to read with "recirculating" air. I'm gonna remove it to see what happens.

I thought our cars are speed density which means venting to atmosphere is ok.

Why would you remove a part designed to make your car run properly just to have a (bad sounding) noise everytime you let off the gas? The car sounds like shit when you vent to atmosphere. It's a bypass valve not an HKS SSQV and this isn't a Civic.
