2012 m3 insurance from geico

Hello all
I'm kinda new to that forum and m3 in general.
Driving Audi a6 2006 and thinking to lease 2012 m3 coupe soon.
My question to the forum is regarding geico insurance .
What would be premium, and difference compare to any other family sedan, like a6 or 535 oe e350.
Location - Robbinsville, Nj
Thanks in advance.

Why not just call an agent and ask? Car insurance is highly dependent on your driving record and also your city/state.

And why Geico? They are neither the least expensive nor the best. I'd call an independent insurance agent that will shop you around to multiple carriers and pick one that is both cheaper AND provides better coverage.

Using geico for the past 6 years now, paying like 90 $ per 2 cars per month with them.

+1. The variables that go into calculating your premium for any given car for most insurers include, but are not limited to, age, driving record, number of drivers, credit record, location, car model, marital status, number of miles driven annually, number of vehicles and whether you have multiple policies with that same insurer. So unless you find someone here with all of those variables the same as yours, the answers will be meaningless. And I too have found Geico to be more $ than State Farm for my situation. Good luck.

Probably not a huge different in price assuming coverages are the same. The loss ratio's for GEICO on m3's aren't too bad, so price is relatively cheap compared to other performance vehicles.

Most brokers in NJ are incredibly shady, so that is a bad idea. As far as least expensive, that depends on location, credit and driving record, but for most of the east coast they are pretty tough to beat.

I have Liberty Mutual. They treat me good and my insurance actually went down a good amount when I got a M3. My last car was Lexus GS300

Liberty Mutual has a program with BMW that gives a discount and guarantees OEM parts for repair. I'll definitely be looking into it once my car is stateside.

I use Amica. They've been rated top in customer satisfaction by JD Power for the last 11 years running (USAA was higher, but they're not open to the general public) and I've loved my time with them. The rates are cheap, I always get a very knowledgeable and HUMAN person on the phone when I need to call, and despite being cheap in the 2 accidents I've had (neither was my fault) they were fantastic. In one case the other party wouldn't return calls for 8 months and it was looking like I'd have to pay as a result, but they persisted that long and got me my deductible back. Highly recommended.

Just to let ya know if you had a seat belt ticket, geico will count that against your premium!!

I recently did a online quote from geico for like $880 for 6 months!! When I called to buy, they told me that it was "alittle" more because of the seat belt ticket I got 2 years ago. So my total premium came to $1120!!!!!!!!!!

Im 26 years old with no points!!! Haven't had a moving violation in 4 years!!!

That's interesting that you mention that, because 3 years ago when I sold my Lexus IS300 and bought an E46 M3, my rate went down. I was shocked that it was more expensive to insure the IS.

I currently have Geico, but I have not had a claim with them in the 4 years I have been with them so I cannot speak about that. I do think it is time for me to start looking elsewhere and see what I can find, since my driving record is now spotless.

(Woot... my 1st post!)

I heard Geico is great until you get your first violation, then the premiums shoot up.

OP, you can read this thread to gauge what others are paying. Insurance is tricky b/c there's a lot of variables at play such as location, driving record, multiple coverage discounts, level of coverage, and most importantly/uniquely your credit score.

On another note, I just changed to Geico and went through the policy. Not only do I not see any statements that would make my car uninsured if I did a track day; I also don't see any statements about actual track racing at all. Seems like they are missing an important clause in their coverage if you ask me.

I insure with Geico and my premium actually went down by a couple of dollars when I dropped my old 2008 Acura TL Type-S and added my 2011 E93 M3.

If you can get on it, NJ Manufacturers is by far the best and cheapest insurance in NJ. Your company needs to be a member though.

I have it both for home and auto, I get dividend checks back every year they make a profit.

I live right by where you live.
