That's a tough question to answer. It depends on which kit you get, Stage 1 VS Stage 2...
I'm pretty sure my stage 2 added a solid 90+ pounds by the time you add intercooler, fluids... And you don't really take anything off that weighs much at all. Obviously the added power MORE than makes up for a relatively small weight gain My car weighs 3,620#'s with a full tank, winter wheels and tires, stock brakes, carbon boot, supercharger plus all my other mod's and a few things in the trunk

After I subtract the weight of the stock manifold and intake and checking the weight on all the major components I came up with about 53 lbs on my ESS VT1-550. The only components that add weight are the blower, bracket and manifold. The VT2 has front mount cooler, hoses, water and a cooler in the manifold so im going to guess these additional parts add about another 20 lbs at most.

ESS VT1, but I hear the power is addictive. If not VT1 then VT3.

Stage 2 is aprox 2.5% weight gain with 50% added power. You will quickly forget about a couple pounds
Also D cups are heavier than A cups

it does'nt add much weight compared to the power it gives, it's just that it adds it at the worst place, but still 100% worth it IMO!

It has been awhile from the last time I measured the weight of all the individual components in our kits but I had some time this morning so I did. Our VT1 kit has a total weight of about 55 lbs. VT2 kits have an total weight of about 70 lbs without fluid.
We spent a long time in development and continue to spend time looking for ways to reduce the weight of our kits where we can. We have been able to get the weight of the current VT1 manifold down to 19 lbs and the current VT2 manifold to 24 lbs. Last time I measured the stock manifold and air box that are removed the total weight of the parts was about 10-15 lbs if I remember correctly. |
