Bumper repaint ballpark?

Gave my rear bumper a little lovetap on the parking garage wall this morning. Unfortunately it was 15F outside so the paint was a little "fragile". Left a nice 3 inch long, 1/4" wide scratch with some spidered clearcoat around it. Don't think it will buff right out. Will probs wait a couple of months to get it repainted once winter's through, but wanted to get some decent ballpark estimates on what a repaint will cost.

Ideas?

Quick question, on a scale of 1 to 10, How upset are you? I would probably be a crippled with anger for weeks. How are you handling this?

From the experience that I have managing a detail shop at a BMW owned and BMW certified repair facility, so long as there is no damage, ie install clips or gauges or creases in the bumper, to R&R that bumper you are probably around $600-$800.00 if there is damage its definately going to be more.....Sounds like some prep, color blend and clear will do the job......When I had my clients in for this kind of a repair, it was in on a Monday and out by Wednesday afternoon. WORD of ADVISE a REPUTABLE shop will prep and paint this bumper entirely off the car!!!! as to avoid further damage such as overspray or excessive scratches from to wrapping the car and or prep.

Ha! I guess I'd say I was disappointed in my own carelessness. I parked in a different spot than usual and used a column as a guide to tell me when I'm a couple of inches away from the wall (which I always do in this garage). Turns out this column is just a little bit closer to the wall than all the others in the same row. Oops.

Living in Boston you learn not to get too attached. My front bumper is already mangled from two different people hitting it: One deep door ding on the upper fender portion where the bumper meets metal, and one nice crease right between the kidney grilles. Lord knows how that happened.

Ouch! I was hoping less than $500. Good advice on making sure they remove it to work on it. Cheers!

I got quotes of $900-$1000 from reputable places for my front bumper.

The pricing will prob depend on the quality of the repaint. My painter charges anywhere from $800-$1300 on a BMW. I wouldn't take it to a place just for cheap pricing ever. But that's how I feel because I've seen too many cheaper paint jobs that just don't turn out right.
