Local Dealership has a 2011 E90 M3, thoughts?

Oh hai guyz... So my local dealership has a 2011 E90 M3 that caught my eye. I'll keep this short and sweet.

The good: Alpine White on Black w/carbon leather, 1-owner, 24xxx miles, 6MT, Convenience Package, Premium Package 2, Competition Package, CPO

The bad: Asking ~$54k lol

Thoughts?

Agreed, priced a little on the high side. Mine was a similar configuration except e92 and DCT but included OEM carbon splitters, OEM carbon mirrors, and the M Performance Exhaust and was able to get it down closer to $50k.

I was thinking ~$47k or so, but that may not be feasible

The price is too high. KBB has the fair market at $47.6 and they are usually on the high side.

That sounds much more reasonable. Get the dealership history, find out how long it's been on the lot, etc, and just see how far you can work them down.

Even with 6sp this sounds a bit low. I'd say more like upper $40s. But if this car is configured exactly how you like then do your best to get em down but don't miss out on it... you'll regret it when someone else buys it.

I got my fully loaded 2011 E90 M3 w/ competition package, cold-weather, nav, extended leather, etc. for $42,500. Only had 25,700 miles. Car is WAY overpriced IMHO.

Wow you got a really good deal, especially for an E90.

I dont know what it is but these last two weeks dealers have started asking ridiculous prices on e90s. Before that the asking price was around 51 and now I'm seeing 54 to 57k

The car he is looking at is a CPO hence the reason for the mark up!

Ahh, didn't see that. CPO still should only add around 4-5k though so 47k would probably be towards the high end of what it's worth.

54 thousand is mighty high. I would definitely try to work them down or walk away and find another example that fits your tastes.

Although, if that's the car you ABSOLUTELY want, I don't see anything wrong with paying a little more (obviously, negotiate the price down) for it if it's THE car you've wanted since you started looking for an e9X M3.

Update: Set up an appointment to go test drive the E90... Ended up falling in love with an AW/FR CF roof E92 instead though. It had just gotten dropped off to get prepped to be put on the lot for sale (PO picked up an M4).

Ended up test driving it and decided to make an offer. I was there for awhile discussing figures and decided it would be best if I just slept on it overnight. Woke up the next morning feeling good about it and got in contact with the sales associate to put a deposit down early AM.

Well, needles to say, choosing to do what I thought was the "right" thing to do and take a night to decide back fired on me... Someone ended up purchasing the car shortly after I left that evening.

Sorry to hear OP. E90's are coming off lease from 2011. You might see more from now to the end of the year, but not as much as E92's. Good luck.

Awww that's terrible but now you can keep looking and explore other options for buying the e9X of your dreams, so to speak.

Yup, I was extremely disappointed. What made it so upsetting was when I called the sales associate I dealt with early that morning, he wasn't at the dealership at the time. So I gave him my CC info for the deposit and hung up the phone super excited and anxious about my new purchase.

I was on cloud 9... until about 5 minutes later when he called me back to share the bad news. It sucked, but at least now I know exactly what I'm looking for. Just gotta stay patient, wait it out and keep my eyes open for the next few months until the next "perfect" one pops up.

Curious, did you find out how much it was sold for or care to share what you were willing to pay for it?

So, you made an offer on an E92 and not the E90? If so, you'll have much better luck finding E92 vs. E90.

Yup, went in originally wanting the E90, but after viewing both side by side and test driving them back to back, I fell for the E92 on that day.
