E90 Non Sport to Sport Suspension
I purchased a set of used sport suspensions here in the forums. The springs were labeled D4 front, D2 rear. My current setup is a non sport 2007 328i, I took a peak at the front springs and they were labeled C5 (unsure about the rears).
My concern is about the rear D2 springs I purchased, there isn't too much information regarding a D4/D2 setup. Does anyone know how it will affect the height if I install these? Should I look at purchasing different springs? |

Do you know what car those springs came from?
I'd guess it was a 328i from the tags. D4 sounds right for the front, but D2 sounds like it might have been on an E92, which is lower in the rear than an E90. I'd try to find out what car they came from. |

As Mike-y posted and you confirmed, the rear will be lower due to the lower D2 spring rating If a coupe. Also an auto will have a different spring rating vs manual. I assume that you are replacing the struts and shocks as well. The sport vs non-sport dampers are different.

Correct, I'm replacing struts and shocks as well. Would installing lowering perches on the front even out the drop?
Thanks for the help guys, just want to get the correct parts before going ahead with the installation. |

I don't have any experience with lowering perch so I can't say... Sedan rear ZSP springs, again depending options, could range from D4~D5. For example I put in a set of D6/D5 (F/R) into my E90 335xi since I wanted to make sure the rear balanced out with the front. There are various threads in the forum. The other thing to consider are bumpstops. Since you have lowered spring you want to make sure that you have correct bumpstop to accommodate for that as well. I would do a search into that as well, either on the forum or on realoemparts.com

I have D4 rear springs on my E90 sedan. At first, I had D3 rear springs from a 335i coupe, and the rear was too low compared to the front.
D4 front springs may work fine, and Lowering perches up front may even out the drop for you, but I think your car would be a little lower than a regular E90 with sports package. but you might like that. |

coupe springs work just fine. car has lost the rake look, and looks even when comparing front n rear.
it would be a good time to replace mounting hardware too ( top hats, the rubber bits, upper/ lower shock mounts.

Decided to look for a set of D3 rear springs. Sounds like a D4/D3 setup would give me an even drop. Lower than the stock sport suspension for a 328i sedan, but i'm ok with that.
