My girlfriend just bought a similar product at a home products show here in town. Basically, they're sheets of 100% rayon. Fairly soft, but nowhere near as soft as a cotton towel. I'd be a bit nervous about using them on my car. We tried a test in which we poured about a half a cup of water onto the granite kitchen countertop. The sham wow picked up most of it, but then again, a similar test with a microfiber showed that the microfiber picked up more.

I think she'll probably end up using it as a bathmat, or maybe to dry the dog.

In looking at some online reviews, it seems it leaves some sort or residue if you use it to wash or dry windows.
