Yeah, I had that thought too. While I think that would look "good" and have some pleasing aesthetics, it's not big enough to be the effect he's going for here.

As for me, I've let it sit awhile, thought about it, not really a fan of it from an aesthetic perspective. It's not that it says "V8" but because I think it makes the area around the gill look too "busy". But yeah, that's a subjective aesthetic thing (like what I like in art or something), so who really cares?

Besides, the joke aspect of it does strike me as funny! In that sense, I like it a lot and the position is perfect. I also think you need one on the trunk next to the Dinan badge to fully complete the effect. Hey, maybe even a little one for the front grill as well. Damn! That would be so freakin' funny! I'd love to see you roll up to the next ES with that.

I just keep thinking of some guy pulling up and saying "Hey, y'all got a Hemi in that there thang...." ) Hmm...Maybe I'll get a plate that says "Hemi" for mine and put it right under the gill on both sides, and the trunk, and the front grill. That should add at least 100 HP!

E90 is looking stunning as usual, not that I am biased or anything.

Surprised you kept your orange reflectors, looks more out of place on grey, not too bad on white though.

Personally I would rather shit on my bonnet and drive with it steaming until it cools and solidifies like a statuette, rather than put a V8 badge on the fender.

Dude, what were you thinking. I reckon this forum makes us all bored as there is only so much modifying one can do, before it tips over the other side much like 1st year Economics diminishing utilities.

My favorite original badge is the stolen M badge i saw stuck onto a 320 coupe, where the M is much bigger and taller than the sleek 320 badge so it looks like original sin LOL

Since you are looking for opinions, I must say that the V8 and Dinan badges look out of place and awful. For some reason, the letters on the Dinan badge just do not go with an E90 LCI or the M3 logo on the trunk lid.

Looks like your upgrade to the E90 LCI trunk and lights worked out great! No issues with it so far? That is one of the mods I am definitely thinking of doing.

If I remember right you used a trunk from a non-M E90?

Well, I was waiting for someone to rip into the orange reflectors. When I first got the car almost 2 years ago, that was the first thing I did. I got clears 'cause I can't stand the painted ones as they just look like painted warts IMO. The clears within a year or so turned yellow. Cheap crap. I would gladly pay $200 for a quality product but you rarely see that come from China. People just want to make a quick buck and rip people off. <sigh>

Thanks. No, this was in the Sacramento area. Aleks' shoot was in the bay area I believe.

Third post ripping into the V8 badging? Really? This all started with my friends joking around and calling me a badge whore because I put ONE badge on my trunk lid(Dinan). So I thought it would be funny to put a couple more badges on, it was a Hit! Now if I drove up in a CONVERTIBLE, SLAMMED, on 20's DEEP DISH wheels, wearing my hat backwards, I think my friends couldn't pick themselves up because they would be laughing so hard. I mean really, how many check marks in the negative performance column are you trying to get? But I am sure it's some kind of inside joke between you and your friends.

Nope, it's an M3 thing. All M3's(E46 + E9x) had the option for the spoiler delete when ordering the car. But since the spoiler is a no cost option most just leave it on. My car is an '08 with a '10 trunk lid. I just happen to think it looks better with it off.

Well, this something I actually like. I think it balances/compliments the ///M emlem on the right. I will take pics of the authentic Dinan emblem next to the badge I have and you can see the Authentic one is just too big, really looks off IOM.

For those interested, I am using an Olympus E-300 Evolt(12MP) with a 18-180mm, 1:3.5-6.3 Olympus Lens.

Your car looks great! I have no idea if you want advice with the photography, but as a fellow photographer, I would want advice. It's definitely compressed quite a bit, but you might also try bumping the exposure a little bit. The sky brightness is causing the camera's meter to underexpose the rest of the image. I did a quick adjustment so you can see what I mean. The compression artifacting is still there, but the exposure is a bit closer to where it probably should be. You might also try doing an HDR - that would definitely solve it.

Cool, thanks for the advice. I do think the original pic looks better than your edited one tho. I am actually taking a series of classes that I think will be helpful!
