Escort Passport 8500 x50 for $170 on woot today!

Just saw this on woot (which means it's a today-only deal). It's refurbished. Great price for anyone in the market. I've had one for years and it's awesome.

Cheers

Escort used to sell the non-X50 refurbs for $150 but not anymore. I think they are doing the X50's now (refurb) for about the same price?

*edit*

Escort sells the X50 refurbs (non-black) for $199. So yes I say "woot".

Agreed. When my first one died after 7 years or so I bought another. Used the first as a trade-in.

not as good as hookers and blow...

but seriously, an X50 that has been refurbished by the factory and has a warranty for $170 is a great deal.

but not as good as my new X50 Black. This thing is smoking on Ka band. Beats my V1 for sure. And in testing even beat the Redline.

Just bought one. Thanks for the giving us the heads up. I've been in the market for a very good (but not the best) radar detector for a while. This fits the bill perfectly.

sorry, my poor attempt at humor again.

buy a Redline and run it with your SRX and see if you notice a difference

I don't think the SRX sensors are compatible with any other model - which is annoying.

Pretty much all of the best radar detectors run off 12 volt DV power. If you want battery powered then go with the Solo S3 or similar battery powered detector.

There's plenty of ways to hardwire them. People have done it with simple cat-3 phone cords before.
