Going from SC back to stock?
Anyone done this? I have ESS VT2-575 on '08 E93. Trading for '13 E92, but dealer obviously wants car returned to working stock.
Any problems or issues I should be aware of? Dealer will be doing the work----dealer also put the SC on. I am NOT any good with tools. Also, for those interested, look for an ad soon as I will be selling the SC. Going to stay stock on new car for at least a year or so. I want to make sure the engine, transmission, etc. are ok first. Thanks! |

Thanks guys. This is what I assumed but wanted some experts to validate. Time to do the conversion and get the 2013 in the driveway.
Tom, after I have had the car for a few months I will want to do the ESS tune. If I'm going to sit out on FI for a while I'm glad there is still something I can mess with. Thanks again. |

I would just hold onto the s/c kit if you have any plans of doing it again in the future.

I would keep the charger. If you sell it and buy a new one (assuming you will stick to ESS) you'll be out 2-3k. If you keep the charger in the garage, it will be a kind of motivation/reminder of the things you are missing

I was going to but I leased the car this time. No car payment for three years, $15k back in cash and getting at least a few grand for selling the SC was too good to pass up. So I'm thinking I will do a simple tune since I don't want to screw up my warranty.
