FIREWORKS

How many of you live in places where fireworks are legal? They are illegal in Pennsylvania if you are a resident, but if you are from out of state you can buy them here. Does that make sense? I have to drive to Ohio to get mine. I was just wondering if they are legal or illegal in most places.

Not Legal in Cali. But i live like 30 mins from Mexico. So we used to smuggle them in. Of course, that was before all this talk on closing borders..etc.

Costco and Walmart sell them in CT, but they are just fountains and sparklers, nothing arial. Which is basically pointless.

I got some professional-level stuff a few years back from a friend of a friend, stuff was NICE! (Class B Baby!)

Sucks you can't use ariels. Fortunately the only things that are banned where I live are bottle rockets and firecrackers, but of course, there are so few deputies that they barely enforce it. I do have to go out of the Seattle area though. Greater Seattle area doesn't allow fireworks.

Costco had a bigger one but it was about $150 so I just got that one. It is probably good enough anyway, mabe more than what I need. Peopl go crazy here with fireworks to the extent that if you have asthma you are advised to stay indoor since there is so much smoke everywhere.

Fireworks are legal in some cities in California. All fireworks that shoot in the air are illegal (i.e. bottle rockets). Lakewood used to sell fireworks but it is now illegal there. Closest city to me would be Carson or Compton, and I'm not going there just to go buy fireworks.

I remember the good old days of holding the fireworks in your hand and then throwing it until the last possible second. Or taking apart a Piccolo Pete to get the powder out and using a 2 Liter bottle to recreate a M80.

My friends and I used to disassemble Estes model rocket motors (basically black powder) crush the propellant with hammers (STUPID!) and repack them.

Heres a good one that works. Take ALOT of sparklers, bundle them very tightly with tape, with one sticking out like a wick. Light the one, and run like hell, it will explode like an M80 if you wrapped them tight enough!

I'm going to have to take a short road trip down to West Virginia. I was told there is some hillbilly selling 1/4 and 1/2 sticks of dynamite in a Wall Mart parking lot.

Yeah I might have done that before but not with a 4 y/o. She would probably think that would be cool. Costco also had an 18 ft long firecracker. My neighbor lit a few of them up during New Years. He climbed on a ladder and hung them from the street light.
