Do you guys wash your drying towels? Since they are drying a completely clean car you would think they would be clean and dirt free but I am inclined to wash them anyway to be safe.

I must say I am exceedingly anal retentive when it comes to this. I use my drying microfibre towels once only, and wash them each time.
That said, when I sold my seven-year-old e46 M3, the paint was better than many cars on the showroom floor. No swirl marks whatsoever. And, it paid dividends in resale value!

I wash my microfiber towels with a good helping of blue dawn dish soap. It cuts right through anything that is on the towels and leaves them residue-free.
As for the boutique microfiber brands, like "Cobra", all that I can say is overrated. I just bought a ton from Autogeek thinking that I was missing out on something. They are no better than the Costco bulk towels. The waffle weave drying towel is good though! |
