Fastrak Transponder Placement

Doods,
Trying to figure out where to put the toll transponder. Any suggestions on where to place it to make it less noticeable?

I put mine at home. The toll cameras takes a photo of non paying cars and cross reference in their data to charge you. No need to carry that ugly thing around.

That won't work if you're driving the OC toll roads. CHP parks on the side right at the gate and if the red light come on, they'll pull you over. Even if you're in Fastrack's system and can even prove it (e.g. show him your monthly statement), you'll get a ticket. They essentially force you to display your fastrack. I just can't understand why it needs to be so freakin' huge. Something the size of an SD card would be nice.

Sucks for u OC peeps. I have both of my cars, my gf, and my parents car on my account for over 4yrs now. Never had any problems.
My friend just sprayed it black to match his dash.

What is the ticket for? I'm pretty sure they can't ticket you since Fastrak will just send you a bill in the mail if you're car isn't registered with them.

You can keep it in your door and just hold it up to the windshield as you drive through the toll plaza.

I understand your point, but the argument from the CHP was that the toll road laws require you to display your fastrack while passing the toll plaza, and it states that it must be on your windshield or backlight. Not sure what claim they'd have if I had limo tint on the backlight concealing the fastrack.

This and a front plate will get you in trouble for no reason on the toll road. It's easier to comply than get hassled, and it's not like a permanent mod is required to display the transponder. If you prefer to take it out each time from a concealed spot, that's ok, but it gets old when there are 3 toll plazas in each direction, each day.
