Save your money and buy a house first. It will be retarded to park an M3 in your apartments car port.

ok its simple gas is expensive and yes the M drinks gas like no tomorrow and the gas tank is too small.

i live in montreal, i only run my car on 94 usually a full tank ranges from 75-85 dollars and that would last you around 350km some times less mostly highway here.

picking an older model means no warranty and maintenance is not cheap, not to mention you have to take into account your insurance and a different set of tire for the winter.

I can get a slightly used 2011 M3 for about 63k in Montreal... And while that's not terrible...I'm really worried about the gas. I don't want to be paying over 1000 bucks on gas a month... More than my car payment... Which really is holding me back... Because I can get a 2011 335 for around 50k...

So I guess what I'm asking... Is if I'm thinking about this cost... Should I not be considering the car at all? Is this car not for me... Am I stretching my financial boundaries if I'm thinking about this?

Thanks guys
Negotiate the M3's price down to about 60K... 10 more grand than the 335... Well worth it

If gas cost is a concern you answered the question yourself. Just wait a few years.

Buy a house first. Paying rent is a waste of money. A huge car payment is going to delay buying a house for a long time. You need to save for a down payment right now while rates are still low. Once you get into a house you will know how much extra money you have to spend on a nice car.

Fuel costs are not a major issue since you know what it will cost you. I am much more worried about stuff breaking in 5 years because I don't know how much it will cost me. Some one said they replaced their engine for $25k after a supercharger blew it up.
