Reminder to check under the hoof often

Soo I am assuming many of us often pop our hoods for either cleaning, gazing or modding etc. I just had my cars plugs changed at the dealer under warranty 3000 miles ago. I pop my hood atleast every week for a variety of reasons. Popped it last week to see green coolant coming out of one of the coolan hoses going to the radiator.

Engine temps were always normal and no signs. But dealer diagnosed system only holding 5psi and clear leak.

Had I not seen this, eventually the leak would have gotten much bigger quickly and obviously a coolant leak means pulling over and a tow truck.

Luckily saw this, drove to dealer and no biggie.

Just a reminder that always good to check tires, under the hood etc. Especially in warm climates where heat wears out rubber

Yes, but you should always check the hooves. Why, just the other day I walked around my S2000 and noticed a screw in the tread right next to the sidewall. Ended up costing me 4 new tires as it wasn't repairable and the tires I was running were no longer being made.

You can learn a lot by looking at the hooves of your ride...

OP: your point is well taken and I hope you M3 is fine.

To the humor stated above, I also own a competition horse and I thought you may be onto something that combined both the M3 and Horses.....

The Tech: I completely agree, anything with a hoof doesn't belong near an M3.

6 Easy Steps to Check Under the Hoof

1.Make sure your horse is calm and not wanting to wander off - there is no point trying to ask it to stand on 3 legs if there is a load of excitement going on.

2.Start on one side. Introduce yourself, and let the horse know you have good intentions - give him gentle strokes on his neck and shoulder and speak to him softly.

3.Run your hand down the leg, and tap the back of his leg.

4.Squeeze the leg above the fetlock if the horse doesn't automatically pick up the leg at the first command.

5.Hold the hoof in one hand.

6.Remove any material from the frog of the hoof with your fingers a brush or a pick.

I see you know something about Horses. Good thing I don't need to go through this procedure with my M3 when I want to look under the Hood!

I have 309KW/420 PS (Pferde Stärke) = [translation Strong horses or English HP] under my hoof ... sorry meant hood Therefore I have no need for hoofs

Comedy and joking aside, I always pop the hood and the trunk when I clean my car and have a good peek especially at the engine. I do it since I cannot get enough of this marvel of an engine (stable of horses) http://www.m3post.com/forums/bpgarag...=view&id=10905

Good "Heads up" Munit
