Best Quick hand Wax methods

Hi folks, Yes, I did search before posting so please don't kill this. I was curious as to what would be the best products to use for quick hand waxes in between my yearly professional details. Im looking for products that do a good job by hand without use of machines and do not involve more than a few steps. Thanks for any info as I am clueless and overwhelmed by my research, just too many products.

I suggest looking around and finding something easy to work with. Save the hard stuff for the major details. It should smell good too IMO, just makes it nice to work with something that smells good

For the harder stuff, I use AF Desire. A little tough to work with, but it pays off and it smells incredible. You need to be careful not to apply too much and don't let it sit too long before buffing. If you do, it'll be a pain to get off. Auto Finesse also offers some lower level waxes that are easier to work with, and also smell great. Desire is more along the lines of a major detailing project though, mainly because of its price.

P21S is very easy to use, but has no smells or anything.

Personally, I am more of a fan of sealants instead of waxes. They last a little longer, and are usually very easy to apply and work with. I have used Auto Finesse's Tough Coat extensively, and I love every bit of it. I used it on my truck months ago, and it's still going strong (I still get pretty good beading when it rains).

Some people will probably throw in the obligatory Swissvax reply, but if you're looking for something simple and cheap I would steer away. Swissvax does wonders, it really does, but at a high price tag. It's best to save the Swissvax for the major details if you're going to fork over that kind of cash.

I think if you are looking for 1 product for occasional use, you are asking for a "all in one" product.. something that can polish light scratches, clean and protect in one..

Klasse All In One comes to mind and and also Werkstatt Prime. Both are acrylic-based for longer lasting protection, easy to use one step products and very economical. I use Werkstatt Prime as my go to one-step. They are designed for hand use. Of course you will get better results with separate products but for ease of use, these are great.

Just my suggestion but I think you should still use a buffer, even with quickie wax. Much less chance of swirls.

I do got some swirls. I thought that was caused by extreme buffing.

Nope, not kidding at all. If I am doing it by hand and it's gonna take a while, I enjoy the smell of a wax

Also, swirls aren't usually caused by applying wax by hand unless you're using an old/dirty applicator or you're applying too much pressure.

The majority of swirls in most cases are caused by washing improperly (i.e. using a regular old bucket with a cheap wash mitt and washing the whole car with it). That's why people will recommend using a "two bucket" method to wash the car with grit guards at the bottom of the buckets. I also use different wash mitts for different parts of the car. This way, you're not using a super dirty wash mitt (like one that cleans mud from the road) on your hood or roof (that usually doesn't have much road grime on it).

Agreed I love when the wax/quick detailed smells good... Like cinnamon

Meguiars 66 quick detailer is actually quite impressive. Very easy on and off and looks great.

I use the collinite too. Just put a coat on the hood this weekend....super easy to apply with a machine.

I usually use a sealant before the wax, but probably just going to go straight to the 845 in the future.

I use DODO juice supernatural! For sealant, Wolfgang's Sealant!! Best EVER!! I use to be a Jetseal fan but damn the wolfgang one is really good.

Coll.845 is really good and I use it on my bumpers and skirts..but it doesnt gloss like other products out there...rest of the car I use a 3M hand glaze and P21S for top coat..very 'wet' looking.

I think the 845 looks good on its own, but you could top the 845 with P21S for durability and that extra gloss you're looking for.

Do you use the 3M hand glaze before applying the collinite 845?

I generally dont bother with the 3M hand glaze on the skirts and bumpers..just go right to the the Coll 845..

On the more eye level panels I do 3M hand glaze and then P21S..the 3M glaze can be hard to work with..I have learned you really have to work in small sections..but the result is impressive..I have tried almost everything out there and this combo really wow'd me.
