Oil leak help

Hello, I have replaced parts and still have an oil leak (front passenger side) on my s65. I've replaced both valve covers, oil cap, oil filter housing gasket (this was definitely ALSO leaking oil), oil Pan gasket from rod bearings (MRF engineering) 3k miles ago.

The only 2 things I can think of is that 1. the oil that is leaking is from a recently fixed oil leak and I'm just making the last of the oil run when the engine heats up and should stop soon. (Even after cleaning the old oil residue as best I could, took the whole end of the car to clean).

2. It's a more serious/expensive oil leak, head gasket or some engine block gasket near the oil Pan. I trust Malek from MRF did a great job with the oil Pan gasket and that isn't the issue. I've looked at the engine diagram and I was thinking it could be another gasket near the bottom of the engine?

Carb cleaner/2+2 gum cutter/gumout/whatever they sell at the parts store and clean the hell out of the area. It's either residue that is heating up and dripping down/puddle of it somewhere you're not seeing, or you in fact do have a leak.

You really should be able to trace it upwards and find the source. Clean thoroughly and see if you can't find the genesis of the leak. After that it should be an easy fix once you know the general area.

When you did the valve cover gaskets did you replace the Oring and gasket under the oil separators?

valve covers could be warped if they were removed improperly.

The valve covers are new. It was from an 08 m3. Figured they were warped and got a set of new ones.

I replaced an o ring from the oil separator tube. Which gasket did you mean?

Mine had a leak in the same vicinity. It turned out to be the oil filter housing gasket where it mounts to the block. There's some DIY threads out there. I see you've done this fix already but probably worth checking the new gasket is seated correctly.

I didn't, I didn't realize those should have been done as well as preventive maintenance while I was in there. Nothing else stuck out to me because I saw no oil leaks coming from anywhere else in that area besides on top of one of the valve covers. So those gaskets are not leaking, it's somewhere below the oil filter housing gasket. I'll provide pictures tomorrow when I get home.

Yes, that gasket was definitely leaking, here's a picture attached. I took the entire front end of the car apart to do this job, mainly to clean the front of the engine. I torqued those bolts (oil filter housing) to spec. I will buy a snake camera to inspect or take the car apart again.

Edit: I did the bank 2 valve cover job after the OFHG job

Wow. That's a helluva' job to undertake. Kudos for doing it yourself. IF she continues to leak take a leaf out of Basil Fawlty's book.

If it's left side (passenger) I would suspect that something isn't correct on that oil filter housing gasket you said was done already. If it was done correctly there could be a buildup of oil on top of the oil pan bellow the filter housing. The oil pan protrudes out and becomes a shelf for holding old leaked oil on it. Another thing that comes to mind is the vanos solenoid on that side of the front of the block. Maybe it's O-ring has failed? Before I did my oil housing gasket I Simple Green'd the whole front of the block and then washed off with hot water to then see where my leak was. BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO GET SIMPLE GREEN ON PULLEYS, TENSIONERS OR ANYTHING WITH A BEARING OR YOU WILL HEAR IT WHEN YOU RUN THE MOTOR - I DID THIS AND HAD TO REPLACE MY WATER PUMP BECAUSE I STRIPPED THE GREASE FROM THE INTERNAL BEARING CAUSING IT TO MAKE A FUCKING HORRIFIC NOISE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING Good luck!

I’m starting to become more familiar with these n54 engines. My 2007 335i has a constant white smoke issues and I can’t seem to wrap my head around what exactly it is and I have a few guesses on what it is but I’d like to see if someone else on here has been through the same issue or not. Before I get more into detail some info on my car
2007 e92 n54
Guy I bought it from says it’s Fbo but it’s missing an intercooler (stock intercooler)
Also supposedly has index 12s
Dual come intakes
Supposedly has 19T turbos with 5k miles
Runs on a e40 tune
Supposedly has a custom tune
Guys says it’s pushing 500whp feels close but I’m not sure. Used to run around 25psi max.
About a month ago my coolant expansion tank blew up while I was just sitting in idle and the water pump had previously been ignored by the owner and I didn’t have time to fix his problems he handed to me, until the other day I finally put a new water pump in and thermostat then I thought my smoke problem would go away and it didn’t so I replaced the valve cover gasket and valve cover and upgraded the PCV valve to a metal one of burger tunings website. Thought that would make my constant white smoke issues go away but it’s almost worse. Usually smokes the worst at stop lights smokes the whole intersection out. Sometimes it’s a constant trail behind me of smoke. I also go through about a quart of oil a week. I’m assuming the water pump hasn’t already gone bad my car runs at about 210-230 after 30 mins of driving. I’m wondering if my turbo seals have gone bad, could be the turbos suffocating because there isn’t enough air flow since I have a stock intercooler and I’m trying to push to much boost for the stock one. Also don’t have any blow by on the oil cap so I wouldn’t think it’s the head gasket. When I open the oil cap there is usually a milkshake as long as my oil catch can looks like a Frappuccino. Someone please help me diagnose my issues before I spend 3k on a single turbo and the issue doesn’t resolve. Thanks
