A plume of smoke. How much is normal?
I'm not talking about at a Cypress Hill concert..
Ever since Supercharging, every once and a while, a second gear pull will puff out a good cloud of black smoke. It could happen when I'm on and off the throttle a lot (carving the turns) high in second gear then rip from 6k to 8.4k RPM. I don't think something is wrong but, I am trying to get an understanding why is it not consistent? Am I just getting an unlucky rich pull? Is my S65 just "clearing it's throat"? Can you guys who are supercharged (and catless) describe what your exhaust does? What is normal?

I couldn't tell you, i'm too busy trying to keep it straight....
it's just the tune, most cars especially with a tune or force induction will puff out a small cloud when you step on it. i wouldn't worry about it until it happens at idle.

Its took a few times to actually get a good enough look at it. The last time, I had the sun at my back so I could tell it was black. It doesn't happen daily but, this time, it was darker than I have ever noticed. Something like this (not quite as thick):

I think it is also an effect of removing primary cats for my particular set-up.

I'd say, white smoke is WAY worse. With a tune, and FI, the tune (to be safe) probably has it running a bit richer than normal. My guess, anyway.
