Skyline GTR is going to have a 7 speed dsg???

Hey guys....I jus wanted to share this with you all. Skyline is going to be unveiled in 2 months or so ...So check out this new article on someone who tested the car and claims that only 7 speed's were availiable to go through. I love this carrrrrrrr.!

wow. im really impressed by the skyline. the first one was a HUGE tuning hit as well. this will be able to keep up with the r8, turbo, etc. even the design is impressive so will the engine. can't wait to see the aftermarket stuff for it as time goes by.

I hope the rumor mill of 70K+ pricing isnt true thou. For the 70K range there is a lot of competition like the Z06, M3, and on and on ....

Also since its badged as a Nissan here it shouldnt have a Infiniti price tag.

If they price it 50K+ they will make a killing with this car.

During the three-day track assault, lucky Nissan personnel were asked to get behind the wheel of the other two vehicles before taking control of the GT-R. The course involved a 100 MPH slalom (nothing about the spacing of the cones), high speed braking tests and bombing the banked oval track. According to Car Top's source, the new GT-R felt as if it were producing upwards of 450 HP, and that the suspension was incredibly stable at sustained high-speeds (the limiter was apparently removed). The braking power provided by the Brembo units supposedly, "has to be experienced first hand" and the seven-speed semi-automatic gearbox was smooth, fast and maybe even better than VW's own DSG setup.

The driver quoted in the article had several other notable tidbits, specifically that four color choices would be available (silver, gunmetal gray, black and white) and he aided Car Top's CG gurus in creating a mock-up of what the production rear-end would look like (right).

Additionally, seven different GT-R models will be released worldwide, with a total of 19 different engine maps, all of which will be dependent on the market the vehicle is sold. However, don't expect a six-speed manual version to be released at the same time as its auto-box counterpart, since Nissan is having issues reducing emissions to acceptable levels.

Bro , I would love the 50k+ tag ....it would save me loadz of money BUT..... .Dont want every 2nd car to be skyline...70k aint that bad...it will take me some time to make the money but in the end, it will be worth it !

Agree ... but if your looking for "Status" the M3 will def will be more of a girl magnet then the GTR .... the only thing you would pull with the GT-R is dudes.

Not saying at all thats what Im about ... as shit I just came from an Evo .. so Im 100% all about raw performance .... but people in that general price range have a lot of options. At 70K your close to AMG CLS range, M5, AMG C63, 911 (I know its not near as fast but again people looking for "status"), ect.

Yea its sad its like that .... but the average non-enthusiast will look at the GT-R as some crazy looking Nissan ...and think nothing more of it then a "Nissan" ... that was one of my arguments about why it should have been badged an Infiniti here ... so you can at least get a little "Status" for your 70K ... that and loaner cars when you need to take your GT-R in for service. Hopefully Nissan will do something like Chevy does for the Vett and offer a separate service dept for the GT-R.

i'm glad it's staying under nissan though. The Skylines have always been with Nissan and they're all great cars so I have no problem with it. Maybe the salesmen who aren't enthusiasts should be wiped so they can introduce some people in their mid life crisis to give the GT-R a second look too

I'm glad its going to be introduced as a Nissan also. It keeps alot of badge whores away. This car is looking nicer and nicer each day. I just hope they offer a stick as a option.

Nice vanity plates to get on it...if it indeed is faster than the M3 (which undoubtedly will be if you tweak the turbos)...and a play on ksfrogman's plates would be:

"M3 LOL"

But as others have said...I doubt it will be livable and daily huggable as the M3 though...

Actualy the current Skyline is badged as an Infiniti in the US...
