July Numbers?

Anyone want to guess what the July numbers will look like? Just got off the phone with my CA and he told me BMW is doing something different in July? Whatever the hell that means. He told me "that is what I heard." He is suppose to get back to me and let me know what that means.

My prediction....

BMWFS will move to a completely tiered lease rate structure regardless of whether or not a model is on sales support rates.

No more "either you're approved or you aren't."

Tiers will be BMW's existing group of Super Elite, Elite, Standard, Standard Plus, Progressive, and Progressive Plus. People in the Standard tier and above will get the best deals while those in Standard Plus and below will not.

This is essentially the same thing that is has been in place with the regional lease rates (standard rates) as well as the retail finance and BMW Select programs for some time.

If your FICO score is sub 680 or so you should lock in June while you can.

That is correct. I spoke with a CA today in NJ. As of July 1st, tiered system for money factors and finance rates.

So, if you credit score is great, mine is BTW, then you would get a better rate? Really the question is, should I lock in now or what until July? Guess we will see the rates when kaykay posts them

Will they still use the same credit scores for the tiers? -

Elite/Super Elite (700+). Standard/Standard Plus (640-699). Progressive/Progressive Plus (639-).

You should always lock in before the end of the month if you have an incoming car or plan to buy one in the next 60 days. If the July program is better then you'll be able to take advantage of those rates instead.

The scoring should be the same, but remember that there are 6 tiers, not 3 and that the good/bad breakpoint lately has been Standard and above (good) / Standard Plus (less good).

So, BMWFS uses FICO score? .... and ofcourse Auto-Enhanced Score?

(transunion Vanatage Score, experian Plus Score, equifax is the only one uses FICO Score)

Is 636 your score?

If it is...then BMWFS will require a big down payment from you....

I was required to put down $8000 for my '06 330i lease, and my score was around 700. I guess it has something to do with BMW being a luxury car and everything.

I believe that 636 puts you into the progressive tier which may or may not be an issue with approval depending on income level.

BMW typically pays more attention to income level then they do to raw scores.

Sorry, I was using the term that is synonymous with "credit score." IIRC their primary bureau is TransUnion unless one can produce a higher score using a different bureau.

Wow, really? Have to check this out. Maybe better to purchase the car. Huh. I have leased for a while now because I like getting a new car every 3 years. Wonder what the residuals are?

From the BMWUSA website:

"0.9% APR for 24 months available through 8/31/2010. $42.06 per $1,000. Also available, 1.9% APR for 25-60 months. $17.48 per $1,000."

Pretty nice deal IMO. Time to think even more! Damn

You're right but it's for the "super elite" tier. Don't really know what your credit score has to be to get that. I assume the lease rates got better too. The longer you wait to get the car the better rate you can get but the longer you have to wait to enjoy it. I was going to wait until July but I will forget all about that when I'm crusing this weekend

The offer applies to Super Elite, Elite, and Standard. IIRC standard bottoms out around 675 or so.
