as opposed to hearing them slobber on the mightily inferior big 10? sorry, but SEC pretty much cleans house with bowl games. it's undeniable. i don't have any affiliation with the SEC, but i know that there's some good football in that conference and to the victor goes the spoils.

I still can't believe that the SEC has controlled the National Championship for as long as it has. I really thought Oregon would win this game regardless of how bad their defense played. Instead they lost the game and their defense played better than their offense.

Yup. Hopefully the sanctions by OSU is enough and the NCAA doesn't punish further... I guess we'll see soon enough.

I'm pissed that his clause clearly stated, with an underline that he was supposed to report any wrongdoing or whatever....

I'm not saying he should be fired, but I am saying OSU should be more harsh on him than the NCAA should be.

NCAA will not find OSU's punishment suitable. I'm disappointed in Tressel. Such a good coach, seemed so honest....

Yeah, I too am disappointed with him. It'll be interesting to see how OSU spins this, because I'd like to believe he wasn't maliciously hiding this.

I think given the coach suspension and players suspension and if all this stands with no more changes or surprises, we won't win the Natl Championship next year. You just can't have all these distractions..

It's amazing to see the backlash on the espn and SI comment boards on this. Granted, most of them are fans of other college sports teams, but still... It's a sad month for OSU football. Hopefully this all gets cleared up sooner than later. All this because of some stupid-ass NCAA rule. Oh well.

Hopefully Matta and the team goes far this year to offset this fiasco.

Call me a Homer, but I believe he did what he to protect his kids. I don't see Tress putting his ethics after winning. The fact is though, there are WORSE NCAA violations at numeroua other schools (I am looking at you USC, Auburn, and Oregon fans) that's deserve far more attention and punishment. Cam Newton was a professional athlete last season, I don't care what anyone says. And Oregon paid for recruits (James and Seastrunk) yet the NCAA turns cheek. And UDub, don't bring up shit because we destroyed you on Sunday, it looks bad.

Very true. But none paid them anywhere near $30,000. Nice try though. Maybe check your info before trying to act like Oregon is clean. Chip Kelly was also the coach of the owner of the "recruiting firm" that is also a football camp for these same players. Again. Maybe do a little more research before chiming in. So thank you for playing. '09 Rose Bowl was awesome BTW.

Tressle is on fuck up # 2 this time... don't forget Youngstown State where he ran out as the same kind of scandal was taking place. Bad rule or not, still a rule and he needs to be held accountable for it.
