Gintani sport exhaust installed
Like subject says.. Just purchased and installed the Gintani sport, single wall, black coated exhaust (catback).
It is has a TON of resonance between idle and 2300 rpm. Does this fade as the exhaust gets "broken in", or do I have to avoid that RPM range from now on..? |

This is normal with all of our exhausts and most aftermarket ones as well. Just out of curiosity, when did you purchase our exhaust? How many miles are on it? It typically takes 1200-1500 miles for the exhaust to break in.

Normal, and no, it doesn't fade.
It is a godly exhaust note, but get used to the boom, because it there to stay. Deceleration from 5.5k is so choice

I bought it used on this site. The only time it has any real effect on me is when I am leaving my garage/neighborhood at 4:50am..
The gentleman I bought it from referred to "breaking it in at those RPM". Having driven cars with resonance before, I thought something was amiss, but wanted to check first. I do acknowledge that I don't know everything.. It should be good and broken in, and yes-upper RPM's it make this thing sound like a beast! Love it.. |

Appreciate the customer support! Is your resonated x-pipe tuned to minimize this any more effectively than the stock resonators?

When I first installed my used Gintani Sport, it was louder than I expected, especially at the low end.
4 months later and I cant get enough and might go louder. I thought maybe it was the car adjusting it's breathing but more likely my ears are getting used to the low end boom. Give it some time and it wont seem as bad. Can't say the same for your neighbors though. |

No problem! If you ever have any questions, you can always feel free to PM or email me too. You will gain a lot of power with our resonated x-pipe (probably the most you can gain in the market), but regardless of any x-pipe of ours (2 resonators, 4 resonators, or high-flow cats) - it will become louder than stock.

Sounds good, let me know when you decide. Just FYI, our x-pipe with the HFC comes with 2 resonators too!

Live and learn. The drone zone. If the buzz in your ears is too much, research drone free exhausts. Most exhausts sound awesome with this M3 from the outside, inside can be a totally different story.
